Used 2020 Mazda CX-9 for Sale near Ohio

How much does the 2020 Mazda CX-9 cost?

Prices have softened 8.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 590 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Mazda CX-9 a good car?

Yes — 4.92/5 is a strong user rating, and it lines up with the themes drivers repeat most often: safety features, a comfortable ride, and a premium feel. The 2020 CX-9 also fits well if you want a three-row SUV that emphasizes driving enjoyment and upscale presentation over maximum size. If you value style, comfort, and a more engaging personality than many family SUVs, this model year makes a strong case for itself. With 33.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful shopping opportunity.

Is the 2020 Mazda CX-9 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.92/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers also describe it as comfortable and dependable, with praise that points to a trouble-free ownership experience and confidence over the long term. That kind of feedback matters if you plan to keep the SUV for years, because it suggests the CX-9 can be a vehicle you count on rather than one you constantly manage. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the ownership experience and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Mazda CX-9?

At 67.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage or repairs. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, maintenance evidence, and how the SUV drives, since those details will tell you more than photos alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Mazda CX-9?

If you find a listing below $19,475, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Mazda CX-9's resale value?

The current average of $19,519 sits slightly below last year's $21,271.

That price movement suggests the CX-9 has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell. Demand should also benefit from the model’s strong owner satisfaction and premium appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.92/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Mazda CX-9 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.92/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,134, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $19,519 average.
• It emphasizes upscale styling and engaging handling.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,241, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $19,519 average.
• It adds a more refined, better-than-ever feel with stronger overall appeal.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best all-around starting point if you want strong satisfaction, solid deal availability, and a lower price than the newer model year. If your budget is tighter, the 2019 is the value play; if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling option, the 2021 is the upgrade path.
