Used 2020 Lexus GX for Sale nearLas Vegas, NV

How much does the 2020 Lexus GX cost?

Prices have softened 5.57% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 809 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Lexus GX a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Lexus GX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the GX for its robust build, off-road capability, luxurious interior, ride quality, and reliability, especially at higher mileage. The overview also frames it as a luxury SUV for you if you value off-road ability and a comfortable cabin more than the latest trends.

The main trade-offs are outdated technology and uninspired styling. The market still shows 39.3% good or great deals, so you can find value if you are selective.

Is the 2020 Lexus GX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliability, a dependable feel, and confidence even after high mileage. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the GX’s robust build and durable, truck-like character, which supports the impression that it is built for long-term use.

For ownership, the biggest risk is that age-related wear and dated tech can matter more than outright mechanical weakness, so condition and maintenance history should guide your decision.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Lexus GX?

At 67.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the cabin and mechanicals show the kind of wear you would expect from a truck-based luxury SUV.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 460 is the base trim, but it still includes 10-way power front seats, leather upholstery, push-button start, automatic climate control, a power sunroof, and an 8-inch touchscreen. The Premium adds rain-sensing windshield wipers, 3-zone automatic climate control, front and rear parking sensors, LED fog lights, wood and aluminum cabin accents, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and navigation with apps such as Yelp and iHeartRadio. The Luxury adds premium leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, self-leveling air suspension, and power-folding/reclining third-row seats.
• Powertrain: The GX 460 uses a 4.6-liter V8 with 301 horsepower and 329 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and standard 4WD. The setup is tuned for real-world power and strong off-road use rather than modern efficiency.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is also standard, and the available surround-view camera adds extra visibility.
• Infotainment: The GX uses an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It does not offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, but the layout is simpler than many newer systems.
• Fuel efficiency: The GX returns 15 mpg city, 19 highway, and 16 combined.

Which 2020 Lexus GX trim should I buy?

The 2020 Lexus GX is offered in 3 trim levels: 460, 460 Premium, and 460 Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• 460: This is the best-value trim because it already comes well equipped with leather upholstery, power front seats, push-button start, automatic climate control, a power sunroof, and the 8-inch touchscreen. CarGurus recommends this trim if you want to avoid paying for extras you may not need.
• 460 Premium: This trim adds the most meaningful comfort and convenience upgrades, including heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, navigation, parking sensors, and 3-zone climate control. It is the right pick if you want a more upscale daily driver without jumping to the top trim.
• 460 Luxury: This is the trim for you if you want the most comfort-focused GX, with premium leather, a heated steering wheel, self-leveling air suspension, and power-folding/reclining third-row seats. It is the most luxurious choice, but not the best value for most shoppers.

Lexus Safety System+ is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up trims to get the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Lexus GX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and enough deal activity to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 809 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.57% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,173, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Lexus GX's resale value?

The current average of $37,173 sits slightly below last year's $39,365.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the vehicle is maintained and how clean its history is. Because the GX has strong owner satisfaction and a reputation for durability, well-kept examples should continue to attract interest.

If you buy one with a clean record and strong service history, you are more likely to preserve value than if you choose a rougher example with visible wear or prior damage.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Lexus GX safe?

The 2020 Lexus GX earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is also standard, and the available surround-view camera can make parking and low-speed maneuvering easier.

One important caveat is that the GX’s age shows up in its technology and cabin design, so you should pay attention to how well the safety and visibility features work on the specific vehicle you are considering.

Should I buy a 2020 Lexus GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 update brings fresh styling while keeping the GX’s core off-road capability and comfortable cabin.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $41,614, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $37,173 average.
• It adds minor updates, including acoustic front side glass.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and proven capability. If you are willing to pay more for a slightly newer example, the 2021 is the cleaner alternative for price-insensitive buyers who want the next model year.
