How much does the 2020 Jeep Cherokee cost?

Is the 2020 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Yes — 4.77/5 is a strong user rating, and it lines up with the Cherokee’s appeal as a comfortable, well-equipped compact SUV. Drivers commonly praise its strong performance, comfortable ride, and spacious, well-equipped interior. That makes it a good fit if you want everyday usability with Jeep’s familiar all-weather capability and a more distinctive personality than a typical small SUV. With 32.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable in daily use, with praise centered on comfort, performance, and the kind of ownership experience that encourages repeat satisfaction. The same feedback also suggests some buyers have had trouble-free experiences with the Cherokee’s core strengths, especially when they value its ride and capability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that condition and maintenance history matter a lot, so a clean, well-documented example is the safer path.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Jeep Cherokee?

At 71.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with accident records. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on overall condition, maintenance evidence, and any signs of past repair work. Because this model year has a mixed reputation in some areas, you’ll want to pay close attention to how the vehicle drives, how the features operate, and whether the listing’s condition matches the asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Jeep Cherokee?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,427 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.97% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,674, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $16,674 sits slightly below last year's $18,318.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more approachable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to stay competitive on condition and mileage. If you buy well now, you may benefit from a lower entry price, but resale will still depend heavily on how clean and well maintained your specific vehicle is. Listings with stronger equipment, better condition, and clear history should be easier to move later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.97% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,817, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $16,674 average.
• It adds a broader mix of comfort, capability, and modern features.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want the better value and are willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer-feeling package with more modern appeal, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
