Used 2020 Hyundai Venue for Sale nearDallas, TX

How much does the 2020 Hyundai Venue cost?

Prices have softened 1.77% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 221 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Venue a good car?

Generally — the 2020 Hyundai Venue earns a 4/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It fits you best if you want value and efficiency first, along with a cabin that feels more spacious than its footprint suggests. The tradeoff is that performance is fairly pedestrian, and cargo space is limited, so it works better as an everyday commuter than as a do-everything utility vehicle.

The Venue’s 30.3% good or great deal share suggests there are still worthwhile listings to find.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Venue reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Venue is presented as an affordable, economical small vehicle with a modern cabin and the latest infotainment and safety technology. Its 1.6-liter four-cylinder is described as modest in output, and the driving experience is more about efficiency than urgency.

The standard IVT automatic on most trims and the front-wheel-drive layout keep the formula simple, which can be a plus for ownership predictability. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a well-worn example may feel underpowered sooner than you expect if maintenance or condition has slipped.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Hyundai Venue?

At 73.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the cabin and electronics still feel consistent with the car’s age and mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE comes with 15-inch steel wheels, a manually adjustable driver’s seat, one USB port, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, and Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, while the SEL adds alloy wheels, a center armrest with a storage compartment, and dual USB ports. The Denim trim is the most fully equipped version, with a two-tone exterior and denim upholstery, and the range-topping trim also gets blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 121 horsepower and 113 pound-feet of torque. A manual transmission is available on the base trim, while most trims use Hyundai’s IVT automatic, and the Venue is front-wheel drive only.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a reversing camera, traction control, a tire-pressure monitoring system, a full array of front- and side-impact airbags, forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and a driver-attention warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the range-topping Denim trim.
• Infotainment: All trims come with an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, USB ports, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The CVT returns 30 mpg city, 34 highway, and 32 combined, while the manual does worse in the city and combined driving but slightly better on the highway, at 35 mpg.

Which 2020 Hyundai Venue trim should I buy?

The 2020 Hyundai Venue is offered in 3 trim levels: SE, SEL, and Denim.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the essentials at the lowest price, including the 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and core safety tech. It makes sense if you want the cheapest way into the Venue, but you give up the nicer cabin touches and convenience upgrades found higher up.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim because it adds alloy wheels, a center armrest with storage, and dual USB ports, and it can be paired with the Premium package for heated front seats, push-button start, remote keyless entry, and navigation. If you want the sweet spot between price and features, this is the one to target.
• Denim: This is the most upscale version, with the fully loaded SEL equipment plus a two-tone exterior and denim upholstery. It also includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, so it suits you if you want the most complete Venue without piecing together options.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert come standard on the Denim trim, while the SEL gets them through the Convenience Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Hyundai Venue?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you have room to shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 221 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.77% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,469, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Hyundai Venue's resale value?

The current average of $13,690 sits slightly below last year's $13,937.

That softer pricing suggests the Venue is still accessible on the used market, which can help keep demand steady among budget-focused shoppers. If you buy well and keep the car in clean condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell. The current price trend also gives you a clearer path to buying near market value rather than chasing a premium.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Venue safe?

The 2020 Hyundai Venue earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with a reversing camera, traction control, a tire-pressure monitoring system, a full array of front- and side-impact airbags, forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and a driver-attention warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the Denim trim, and available on the SEL through the Convenience Package.

Should I buy a 2020 Hyundai Venue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It emphasizes value, efficiency, and a spacious-feeling cabin while keeping the footprint small.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $14,227, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $13,690 average.
• It adds a more crossover-like look with standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the lower entry price and a broad pool of listings, the 2020 is the easier buy. If you can spend more for a newer model-year alternative with a slightly more modern positioning, the 2021 is the cleaner upgrade path.
