How much does the 2020 Hyundai Tucson cost?

Prices have softened 8.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,066 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Hyundai Tucson earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, smooth ride, and extensive tech features, and they also highlight its value for money and safety options. That lines up well with its role as a value-focused compact SUV with a roomy cabin and a practical, low-stress ownership pitch. With 31.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reviewers describe it as dependable in everyday use, with positive feedback centered on a smooth ride, useful technology, and a practical ownership experience. The overall tone suggests you can count on it for routine commuting and family duty, especially if you value comfort and value over excitement. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about satisfaction and more about making sure a specific vehicle has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Hyundai Tucson?

At 66.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put a pre-purchase inspection at the top of your list, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus your condition check on bodywork, panel alignment, interior wear, and how the vehicle drives, since those details can reveal whether a bargain is truly a good buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Hyundai Tucson?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,066 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.48% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,720, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $15,776 sits slightly below last year's $17,239.

That softer pricing suggests the Tucson has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stays steady. Its value-focused reputation and broad appeal should continue to support demand, especially among shoppers looking for a practical compact SUV with a roomy cabin and strong equipment levels. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintenance records organized, you improve your odds of holding onto more value when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,068, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $15,776 average.
• It is the final model year of the generation, so you get a familiar formula with plenty of tech and safety features.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better primary choice if you want the strongest value and a lower entry price. If you can spend more and want the last year of the generation, the 2021 is the secondary path for buyers who prioritize a newer model-year position over savings.
