How much does the 2020 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 7.36% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,071 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Honda Accord a good car?

Generally — 4.3/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the expert rating is 8.3/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, stylish design, and great value, and many also highlight the advanced features and strong performance from the 2.0T engine. The Accord’s easy-to-use technology and practical cabin space also come through as recurring strengths.

The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and some concerns about acceleration, especially with the air conditioning on. In use, this is a family sedan that leans into comfort, usability, and everyday practicality while still offering a more engaging driving feel than many rivals.

There are 29.8% good or great deals in the market, so you can still find attractive pricing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as a worthwhile investment, and the feedback repeatedly points to comfort, value, and a dependable ownership experience. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Accord can go the distance, with language that frames it as a car built for a decade or more of faithful, useful service.

The cost-effectiveness assessment reinforces that long-haul impression by noting that the car holds its value well. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the overall package and more about checking for the specific issues owners mention, including acceleration concerns and occasional transmission complaints.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda Accord?

At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had prior bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and how the car drives under load, since owner feedback points to acceleration and transmission concerns on some examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring trims differ in appearance and equipment, with the Sport and Touring trims getting 19-inch wheels while other versions use 17-inch wheels. The base setup is more value-oriented, while higher trims add a more upscale look and feel.
• Powertrain: Most trims use a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 192 horsepower and a CVT, while the lineup also includes a 212-horsepower hybrid and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 252 horsepower paired to a 10-speed automatic. The standard engine is adequate, but the stronger engines are the better fit if you want more punch.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is reserved for the Sport 2.0T and EX trims or higher.
• Infotainment: The available 8-inch touchscreen includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and text-messaging support. Touring adds HondaLink subscription services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, and wireless device charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0T testing returned 27.4 mpg, and the hybrid averaged 42.6 mpg during testing.

Which 2020 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2020 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the Accord’s core comfort, space, and safety features at the lowest price.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim if you want a more appealing look and the added benefit of blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert when equipped with the 2.0T setup.
• EX: This is a smart middle ground because it adds useful equipment while also unlocking blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• EX-L: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale feel, since it adds a premium sound system and more comfort-oriented equipment.
• Touring: This is the top choice if you want the most complete Accord experience, including the 8-inch touchscreen, HondaLink services, Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, wireless charging, and a head-up display.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, but blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not included on every trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda Accord?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,071 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,741, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $19,741 sits slightly below last year's $21,309.

That softer pricing can be a plus if you’re buying now, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations. The current market suggests the Accord is still in demand, yet not so scarce that prices are being pushed upward.

For resale, the key advantage is that the Accord’s reputation for comfort, value, and long-term usefulness helps keep it appealing to used shoppers. A well-kept example with strong equipment and a clean history should be easier to move than one with visible wear or a questionable service record.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Honda Accord safe?

The 2020 Honda Accord is a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and earns five-star ratings in every assessment conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not standard on every trim, so you’ll want to check equipment carefully if that matters to you.

The main caveat is that the driver-assistance tuning is not perfect: adaptive cruise control can react a bit abruptly, and the warning systems can false-trigger in some shadowed or construction-zone conditions.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong comfort, easy-to-use technology, and standard Honda Sensing with a practical family-sedan layout.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,535, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $19,741 average.
• It adds a more elevated direction with a refined features list and a new trim level.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the smarter buy because pricing has softened and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to spend more for a fresher-feeling setup, the 2021 is the better secondary path.

How does the 2020 Honda Accord compare to the 2020 Toyota Camry?

Expert Pros & Cons (per CarGurus review team)

2020 Honda Accord:

• Pros: Comfortable, Multiple powertrain options, Easy-to-use technology.
• Cons: Underwhelming base engine.

2020 Toyota Camry:

• Pros: Great safety ratings, Premium interior materials, Standard advanced safety features.
• Cons: Cramped back seat, Not much cargo space.

Our experts score the 2020 Honda Accord 8.3/10 and the 2020 Toyota Camry 7.5/10. The Accord looks like the better pick if you want more powertrain variety, a roomier cabin, and easier tech. The Camry counters with strong safety credentials and standard advanced safety features, but its tighter rear seat and smaller cargo area make it less practical for some shoppers.
