How much does the 2020 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 7.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,037 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Honda Accord a good car?

Generally — the 2020 Honda Accord earns 4.3/5 from owners and 8.3/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, stylish design, and great value, and many also highlight the advanced features and strong performance from the 2.0T engine. The Accord is also frequently described as a worthwhile investment, which lines up with the way it blends everyday usefulness with a more engaging driving feel.

The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and some complaints about acceleration when the air conditioning is on, along with a few transmission concerns. In practical terms, this is a strong fit if you want a roomy, well-equipped family sedan with a polished feel, and the 30.9% share of good or great deals suggests there are still attractive listings to find.

Is the 2020 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe the Accord as a worthwhile investment, and the review summary points to a car that many owners trust for comfort, value, and advanced features. The expert write-up also frames it as a vehicle that can provide a decade or more of faithful, useful, and enjoyable service.

Honda’s cost-effectiveness notes reinforce that long-haul impression by emphasizing strong value retention and the sense that the car can go the distance. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you choose a well-kept example, since any sedan with this much mileage potential deserves careful maintenance history review.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda Accord?

At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s driver-assistance and infotainment features work as expected. If you’re comparing multiple listings, give extra weight to cars with clean histories and consistent maintenance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Honda offers the 2020 Accord in LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring trim levels. The Sport and Touring trims get 19-inch wheels, while other versions use 17-inch wheels that are less flashy but cheaper to replace. EX-L adds a ten-speaker premium sound system, and Touring adds HondaLink subscription services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, wireless device charging, and a head-up display.
• Powertrain: Most trims use a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 192 horsepower and a continuously variable transmission. A 212-horsepower hybrid powertrain is available on the hybrid version and as an option on EX, EX-L, and Touring. A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 252 horsepower is also available, paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on every trim level and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is reserved for the Sport 2.0T and EX trim levels or higher.
• Infotainment: The available 8-inch touchscreen includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and text-messaging support. Touring adds HondaLink subscription services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, and wireless device charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test drive notes a 27.4 mpg result during testing on the turbocharged 2.0-liter model, and the hybrid averaged 42.6 mpg during a week of driving.

Which 2020 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2020 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Accord’s core comfort, space, and standard safety tech at the lowest price.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more appealing look, 19-inch wheels, and access to blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert when equipped with the 2.0T setup.
• EX: This is the smart step-up if you want more convenience and safety flexibility, including access to blind-spot monitoring and the available hybrid powertrain.
• EX-L: This trim is the better pick if you care about a more premium cabin feel and want the standard ten-speaker audio upgrade.
• Touring: This is the top choice if you want the most features, including navigation, wireless charging, a head-up display, and the most upscale presentation.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim level, but blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is limited to the Sport 2.0T and EX trim levels or higher.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda Accord?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,037 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,713, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $19,713 sits slightly below last year's $21,269.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more modest if the market stays soft. Even so, the Accord’s broad appeal, strong owner satisfaction, and reputation for value retention should help it remain easier to resell than many sedans in its class.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Honda Accord safe?

The 2020 Honda Accord is a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and earns five-star ratings in every assessment conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim level and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is reserved for the Sport 2.0T and EX trim levels or higher.

The main caveat is that the adaptive cruise control can be smoother, and the forward collision warning and lane departure warning systems can give false alerts in some conditions. That means you should test the driver-assistance behavior on your own route before you buy.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 Accord combines strong tech, roomy packaging, and a well-rounded driving experience.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,506, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $19,713 average.
• Honda refined the features list and added a trim level.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because pricing has softened and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer version with a refined feature set, the 2021 is the cleaner upgrade path.
