How much does the 2020 Toyota Camry cost?

Prices have softened 3.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,120 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2020 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Toyota Camry earns a 4.71/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its reliability, comfort, and great fuel economy, and many also like its stylish design and smooth ride. The Camry’s broader appeal comes from its practical midsize-sedan use case, where you want a well-equipped daily driver with strong safety credentials and a premium feel. The main trade-offs are that some owners want more horsepower and more advanced features, while the newer tech can take some getting used to.

With 31.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s enough market activity to make shopping worthwhile.

Is the 2020 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe the Camry as reliable and dependable, with a reputation for trouble-free ownership and a car you can count on over the long term. The expert review also emphasizes Toyota’s reputation for quality, reliability, and value, while noting that ToyotaCare includes free maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure prior maintenance and recall history are clean before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Toyota Camry?

At 54.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and prioritize any signs of prior collision repair, especially if you’re comparing similarly priced listings. A pre-purchase inspection is worth it here, since the Camry’s value depends heavily on condition, equipment, and whether the car has been maintained properly. Focus on the back seat, cargo area, and overall wear, because those are the areas where the model’s practical compromises show up most clearly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Even lower trims benefit from Toyota’s nicer materials and driver-focused cabin, but the base setup is still more limited than higher trims. The upper trims add leather and wood, while the TRD brings red accents and a more aggressive look.
• Powertrain: You can shop a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with FWD, the same engine with AWD, or a 3.5-liter V6. The four-cylinder is the efficiency play, while the V6 is smooth and powerful but less compelling if you want lower running costs.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is optional.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get a 7-inch screen, with an optional 8-inch upgrade. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and higher trims can add Remote Connect and a larger driver display.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-drive four-cylinder XLE and XSE are rated at 31 mpg combined, AWD versions at 28 mpg, and front-drive V6 models at 26 mpg. The TRD is rated at 25 mpg.

Which 2020 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2020 Toyota Camry is offered in 7 trim levels: LE, SE, SE Nightshade, XLE, XSE, TRD, and XLE V6.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, but it’s best if you want the lowest price and are comfortable with a simpler feature set. It gives you the core Camry experience without the extra equipment that makes higher trims feel more complete.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a sportier look and better interior trimmings without jumping too far in price. If you want a Camry that feels a little more polished and expressive, this is the one to target.
• SE Nightshade: Choose this if you care most about appearance, since it adds blacked-out exterior trim and black 18-inch wheels. It’s more about style than substance.
• XLE: This is the sweet spot if you want the most balanced mix of comfort and equipment. It adds luxury touches like leather upholstery and dual-zone climate control, and it’s the trim most likely to feel like a well-rounded daily driver.
• XSE: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale, sport-leaning Camry with extra equipment and a stronger visual presence. It also pairs well with the available tech and convenience upgrades.
• TRD: This is the enthusiast choice, with a 301-horsepower V6, lowered suspension, beefed-up brakes, and high-performance tires. It’s the most distinctive Camry, but it’s also the least practical value for most buyers.
• XLE V6: This is the choice if you want the V6’s smooth power in the most comfort-focused package. It makes the most sense for buyers who care more about refinement than sportiness.

Toyota’s standard safety suite is on every trim, but blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert remains optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Toyota Camry?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,120 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,621, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $20,006 sits slightly below last year's $20,773.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend suggests you should expect value to depend heavily on trim, condition, mileage, and equipment rather than broad market appreciation. Well-kept examples with desirable features should still draw attention, especially because the Camry remains a familiar and trusted nameplate.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2020 Toyota Camry earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and Top Safety Pick+ recognition from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, dynamic radar adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, and automatic high beams. Every Camry also includes Safety Connect, 10 airbags, stability control, and a backup camera. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is optional, and Bird’s Eye View is available on higher trims for a 360-degree parking view.

Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Toyota added all-wheel drive and the TRD trim, broadening the Camry’s appeal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,890, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $20,006 average.
• It offers strong safety and free scheduled maintenance.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,816, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $20,006 average.
• It adds updated infotainment and a newer driver-aid package.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of updates, safety, and market availability, the 2020 is the strongest all-around pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2019 is the better value play, while the 2021 makes sense if you want the newer tech and are willing to pay more.
