How much does the 2020 GMC Yukon cost?

Prices have softened 15.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,159 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 GMC Yukon a good car?

The 2020 GMC Yukon earns a 3.75/5 user rating, and its overview points to a full-size SUV that emphasizes space, comfort, and a premium-feeling cabin. It offers a roomy third row, plenty of cargo space, a powerful engine, and a practical family-hauler setup, while also carrying an understated look that may appeal if you want something less flashy than some luxury rivals.

You should also weigh the tradeoffs in the same overview: poor fuel economy, uncomfortable seats, and interior materials that can feel cheap. Even so, the combination of strong utility and a well-equipped cabin makes it a sensible choice if your priorities are passenger room and everyday usefulness.

With 40.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find attractive pricing.

Is the 2020 GMC Yukon reliable?

The 2020 GMC Yukon is described as one of the best years to buy, helped by strong owner satisfaction and a feature set that makes it appealing as a practical family hauler. It also benefits from the fourth-generation updates that brought a standard eight-inch infotainment touchscreen, a standard Bose sound system, fold-flat second- and third-row seats, and added sound-deadening and laminated glass.

That said, you should still approach any used full-size SUV with care, because long-term ownership risk can rise quickly if maintenance history is incomplete or wear items have been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 GMC Yukon?

At 73.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body repairs, alignment, and signs of uneven wear. Pay close attention to overall condition, since a large SUV like this can hide expensive issues in the suspension, interior, and drivetrain if it has been used hard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 GMC Yukon?

This looks like a buyer-friendly market if you’re shopping carefully, because there’s enough inventory and a meaningful share of listings are priced competitively.

• Deal availability: 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,159 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,449, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $29,482 sits slightly below last year's $34,770.

That price movement suggests the Yukon has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale value may be steadier if you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition. If you pay close to the low end of the range, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2020 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.21% compared with last year.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $41,757, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $29,482 average.
• The redesign brings more passenger space and a better ride.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with a favorable deal environment. If you’re willing to spend more for the redesign’s added space and ride improvements, the 2021 is the better upgrade path; otherwise, the 2020 is the smarter choice for price-sensitive buyers.
