With 424 currently listed for sale near Plano, TX and an average price of $29,781.00, 33.0% of 2020 Ford F-150s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

93.2% of 2020 F-150 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2020 Ford F-150 stands out as a full-size pickup that tries to balance everyday comfort with real work capability. It offers an accommodating and modern interior, comfortable road manners, and a lineup of engines that provide the power and torque needed to hold its own at the worksite. That combination makes it appealing to buyers who want a truck that can serve as a commuter, family hauler, and tow vehicle without feeling out of place in any of those roles.
It also brings some clear strengths beyond utility. The F-150 boasts outstanding tech and comfort features, and its stylish design helps it feel more polished than a purely work-focused truck. At the same time, it is not perfect: advanced safety features are not standard, and the interior materials feel cheap. Even so, the 2020 Ford F-150 remains distinctive because it delivers broad capability with a cabin and ride quality aimed at making daily use easier.

The 2020 Raptor gets almost everything right — performance, comfort, design, and capability. It’s not just a truck; it’s an experience. Every time I drive it, it reminds me why this model has such a loyal following. ⸻ What I Think of Its Features The twin-turbo 3.5 L EcoBoost engine delivers incredible power and torque, and the 10-speed transmission keeps it smooth whether you’re cruising the highway or tearing up dirt roads. The suspension is what truly sets it apart — it absorbs rough terrain like it’s nothing, but somehow still rides comfortably on pavement. Inside, it’s spacious, refined, and well-equipped. The technology and controls are intuitive, and even though it’s built for off-road performance, it doesn’t sacrifice daily comfort. It feels just as confident on a long trip as it does on a back trail. ⸻ Is It a Good Value? Yes — for the right driver. You’re paying for both capability and character. If you’ll actually use what it was built for — adventure, off-road travel, or simply having the most capable full-size truck on the road — then it’s worth every dollar. Of course, if you’re buying it just for city commuting, the value depends on how much you want the performance and presence. Fuel economy and tire wear are part of the trade-off, but the Raptor delivers something few trucks can: it makes driving fun again. ⸻ What It’s Missing No vehicle is perfect. The Raptor’s towing capacity isn’t as high as some other F-150 models, and it’s definitely a large truck to maneuver in tight parking lots. It also drinks more fuel than your average pickup, and parts like the suspension or tires cost more to replace. But for me, those drawbacks are minor compared to what it offers in power, confidence, and enjoyment. ⸻ What I’d Compare It To If you want to compare, the Ram 1500 TRX is the closest rival — louder, heavier, and a bit wilder. The Raptor, though, strikes a better balance between power and everyday drivability. I’d also compare it to the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss or GMC AT4 for someone who wants off-road ability without going full performance truck. ⸻ Overall The 2020 Raptor is one of those rare trucks that feels alive. It’s strong, capable, and surprisingly refined. Whether you’re driving across the country or exploring back roads, it’s a truck that makes you want to keep going. That’s why I gave it a perfect 5-star rating.

The picture is deceiving. It’s actually missing driver side running board. And the inside was very dirty. Back head rest was also missing.

Is the 2020 Ford F-150 a good car?
Yes — the 2020 Ford F-150 earns a 4.72/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.
Owners consistently praise its power, smooth ride, and interior comfort, and many also like the engine lineup, especially the 3.5L EcoBoost and 5.0L V8 options. The truck’s broad capability also comes through in its ability to work as a commuter, family hauler, and tow vehicle.
The trade-offs are familiar: interior materials feel cheap, and some drivers wanted more features such as extra USB ports and power seats. Even so, the F-150’s accommodating cabin and comfortable road manners make it easy to use every day.
With 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive example.
Is the 2020 Ford F-150 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.72/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a truck people trust for power, comfort, and everyday use, and it also suggests the F-150 can be a dependable long-term companion when maintained well. The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by describing a truck built to handle daily driving, towing, and hauling without feeling out of place in any of those roles.
Ford also includes a broad set of standard safety equipment, which can help reduce ownership stress over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is buying a truck that has been worked hard or poorly maintained, so condition and history matter a lot.
What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford F-150?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has towing, hauling, or off-road use in its past. Focus on wear items, cabin condition, and evidence of heavy-duty use.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The XL is the work-focused starting point, with steel wheels, manual locks, air conditioning, a small driver display, and standard forward automatic emergency braking. The XLT adds more convenience and tech, while higher trims bring leather, heated and cooled front seats, premium audio, and more upscale materials.
- Powertrain: The lineup includes a 3.3-liter V6, a 2.7-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V6, a 5.0-liter V8, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6. The base V6 is fine for daily driving, while the turbocharged engines, V8, and diesel are better suited to towing and hauling.
- Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 can include automatic high beams, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. Some of these features are not standard on lower trims.
- Infotainment: The XL can be equipped with a touchscreen, USB ports, and voice recognition, while the XLT gets an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, enhanced voice recognition, pinch-to-zoom map functionality, and smart-charging USB ports. FordPass adds remote functions and a 4G WiFi modem on XLT-and-up trims.
- Fuel efficiency: The turbodiesel with rear-wheel drive returns 21 mpg city, 29 highway, 24 combined. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with rear-wheel drive returns 20 mpg city, 26 highway, 22 combined. The V8 returns 17 mpg city, 23 highway, 19 combined, and the Raptor returns 15 mpg city, 18 highway, 16 combined.
Which 2020 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?
The 2020 Ford F-150 is offered in 7 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The XL is the most stripped-down choice, with basic equipment, a small driver display, and no abundance of comfort features. It does include standard forward automatic emergency braking, but it still feels like the work-truck starting point.
- Sweet-spot trim: The Lariat is the best balance of comfort and value, adding leather-trimmed seats, heated power-folding mirrors, dual-zone climate control, push-button start, and power heated and cooled front seats.
- Premium/top trim: The Limited is the most luxurious choice, with premium leather upholstery, a dual-panel moonroof, 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, and upscale exterior detailing.
- Off-road trim: The Raptor is the specialized off-road choice, but its rugged setup and lower fuel economy make it less appealing for typical daily driving.
Ford’s safety package is available across the lineup, but lower trims do not get the full set of driver-assistance features standard.

What is the 2020 Ford F-150's resale value?
The current average of $28,940 sits slightly below last year's $30,764.
That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money today, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying well matters more than ever because your exit price will depend heavily on how much you pay now and how clean the truck is when you resell it.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.72/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2020 Ford F-150 safe?
It earns five-star ratings from NHTSA in SuperCrew form, while SuperCab and regular cab versions earn four-star overall ratings from NHTSA. SuperCrew trucks also received top marks from IIHS in its various crash tests.
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Ford makes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking standard, including on the XL trim. Ford Co-Pilot360 can add automatic high beams, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. The Pro Trailer Backup Assist is also available to make towing easier.
The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup, so you should check carefully which driver-assistance items are included on the specific truck you’re considering.
Should I buy a 2020 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2020 if:
- 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.93% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.72/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2020 model balances comfort, capability, and a broad engine lineup.
Consider the 2019 if:
- At $26,566, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $28,940 average.
- It offers a proven, familiar formula with modest updates.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $33,323, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $28,940 average.
- It adds a revamped interior and the new Sync 4 infotainment system.
The bottom line: The 2020 is the right pick if you want a well-rounded F-150 with strong comfort, broad capability, and a softer price than the newer redesign. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2019 is the value play; if you want newer tech and don’t mind paying more, the 2021 is the upgrade path.
