How much does the 2020 Ford Edge cost?

Prices have softened 8.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,646 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Ford Edge earns a 4.63/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfort, spaciousness, and modern features, and they also call out the solid build quality and roomy interior. That lines up well with the Edge’s straightforward, easygoing character and its appeal as a practical two-row SUV for families and taller passengers. The main trade-offs are its uninspired styling and underwhelming base engine, so it makes the most sense if you value comfort and useful equipment over excitement. Good and great deals account for 32.7% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge reliable?

Owners rate it 4.63/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with repeated praise for solid build quality and a comfortable, well-equipped cabin. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Edge is easy to live with and fitted with useful technology, which supports confidence in day-to-day use. Ford’s standard driver-assistance and infotainment setup adds to that sense of everyday usability.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some owners reported technical issues, so a careful test drive and history check matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford Edge?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the transmission behavior, electronics, and overall cabin condition. Focus on whether the features you care about work as expected, especially if you want a trim with more advanced tech or comfort equipment.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE is well equipped with a 10-way power driver’s seat, satellite radio, WiFi hotspot, two USB ports, remote keyless entry, SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa, dual-zone climate control, and Ford Co-Pilot360. The SEL adds LED fog lights, heated side mirrors, 18-inch wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a six-way power front passenger seat, a premium audio system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Titanium adds 19-inch wheels, genuine leather upholstery, memory settings, remote start, wireless charging, and a premium sound system. The ST is the performance-oriented choice with a more powerful engine, standard AWD, and sportier styling.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive or available AWD. The ST uses a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, also paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD. The four-cylinder is the efficiency-focused choice, while the ST is the one for stronger acceleration and more engaging driving.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on every trim and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on the SEL and adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go traffic capability plus active lane centering.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. Voice-activated navigation with pinch-to-zoom is optional on the SEL and ST and standard on the Titanium. A semi-digital instrument panel is available on the SEL and ST and standard on the Titanium.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter FWD model returns 21 mpg city, 29 highway, and 24 combined. With AWD, it returns 21 mpg city, 28 highway, and 23 combined. The ST returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 21 combined.

Which 2020 Ford Edge trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford Edge is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, ST.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the Edge’s core strengths without paying for extras. You still get SYNC 3, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, and Ford Co-Pilot360, so it covers the essentials well.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds meaningful comfort and convenience upgrades without jumping too far in price. Heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, LED fog lights, and the upgraded audio system make it feel more complete.
• Titanium: Choose this if you want a more upscale Edge with leather upholstery, memory settings, wireless charging, and the premium sound system. It also brings standard navigation and the semi-digital instrument panel, which makes it the most polished non-ST choice.
• ST: Pick this if you want the strongest performance and the sportiest character in the lineup. It adds the 2.7-liter V6, standard AWD, and a more aggressive driving feel, but it is the least efficiency-focused option.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard across the lineup, while Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on the SEL.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford Edge?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,646 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.49% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,647, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $16,647 sits slightly below last year's $18,191.

That price movement suggests the Edge has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stays steady. If you buy at the right price now and keep the vehicle in good condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later. The model’s broad appeal as a practical, well-equipped two-row SUV should help it remain easy to market to used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.63/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge safe?

The 2020 Ford Edge received a "Top Safety Pick" rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and earned five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests and four-star ratings in rollover crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on every trim and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. If you move up to the SEL, you can add Co-Pilot360 Assist+, which brings adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and active lane centering.

One caveat is that headlight performance varies by trim level, so it is worth checking the specific vehicle’s equipment before you buy.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.63/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines standard advanced safety features with easy-to-use technology and a performance-oriented ST variant.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $15,038, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $16,647 average.
• It offers roomy, practical family-hauling space with an available ST for added performance.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,801, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $16,647 average.
• It adds a few new tech features while keeping the familiar roomy, comfortable formula.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, equipment, and available inventory, the 2020 is the smart default. If your priority is saving money, the 2019 is the better value target. If you want a newer model year and are willing to pay more, the 2021 is the cleaner step up.
