Used 2020 Dodge Durango for Sale near Tennessee

How much does the 2020 Dodge Durango cost?

Prices have softened 10.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,324 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Dodge Durango earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its spacious interior, comfort, and smooth driving experience, and many also value its towing capacity and performance. That lines up with the Durango’s use case as a three-row SUV that gives you space and attitude in the same package. The main trade-offs are its dated feel and the fact that it gives up some usability versus newer rivals, while the lack of standard advanced safety features is a notable drawback. Even so, 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with repeated praise for comfort and everyday usability. The expert drive notes also emphasize that the Durango is built around a durable, family-friendly formula with strong powertrain choices and a long-term role as a versatile SUV. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs. For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is less about day-to-day satisfaction and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Dodge Durango?

At 69.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage or lower-priced example. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the cabin and electronics still feel consistent with the asking price. Because this model year can be found in a wide range of trims and equipment levels, it also pays to confirm that the features you want are actually present on the specific vehicle you’re viewing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SXT comes standard with 18-inch wheels, three-zone climate control, manually adjustable front seats, a 7-inch digital instrument panel screen, dual USB ports, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a six-speaker stereo. The GT adds 20-inch wheels, a sport-inspired grille, remote start, LED fog lights, dual exhaust, and a power rear liftgate. The R/T adds leather-and-suede upholstery, heated front seats, heated rear seats, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Citadel adds unique chrome exterior touches, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, a power moonroof, second-row captains chairs with a center console, and premium leather upholstery. The SRT has an entirely unique look with a more aggressive lower front fascia, auto-leveling headlights, 20-inch black wheels, ventilated front seats, and unique leather-and-suede seats with an embossed SRT logo.
• Powertrain: The SXT, GT, and Citadel come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The R/T uses a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, and the SRT gets a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. All engines use an 8-speed automatic, with rear-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive depending on trim.
• Safety package: The Durango comes with front- and side-impact airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and trailer sway control. The Technology Group adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, and lane-departure warning, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection are also available. These driver-assistance features are not standard.
• Infotainment: The SXT and GT come with a 7-inch touchscreen, while an 8.4-inch touchscreen is optional on the GT and standard on all other trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system supports navigation on higher trims. R/T, Citadel, and SRT trims also add SiriusXM Travel Link and an Alpine premium audio system with nine speakers and a subwoofer.
• Fuel efficiency: The base V6 with rear-wheel drive returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 21 combined. With all-wheel drive, it returns 18/25/21 combined. The 5.7-liter V8 returns 14/22/17, and the range-topping SRT returns 13/19/15.

Which 2020 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2020 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, and SRT.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Durango formula with the standard V6, a 7-inch touchscreen, and the basic cabin and convenience equipment. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup, but you’ll want to verify which safety and convenience features are included on the specific vehicle.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more polished look, remote start, LED fog lights, a power rear liftgate, and a stronger convenience package without jumping into V8 pricing. If you want a well-equipped daily driver, this is the trim to focus on first.
• Citadel: This is the luxury-minded choice, with chrome exterior details, a moonroof, premium leather, and second-row captains chairs. It suits you if comfort and upscale touches matter more than keeping the price down.
• R/T: This is the performance-leaning V8 trim, and it adds heated leather-and-suede seating, memory settings, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. It’s the right pick if you want stronger acceleration and a more premium feel.
• SRT: This is the most aggressive version, with the 6.4-liter V8, performance-tuned suspension, Brembo brakes, and a unique appearance. It’s for you if you want the most serious performance character in the lineup.

The Technology Group package adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, and lane-departure warning, but those features are not standard.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,324 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,682, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $20,682 sits slightly below last year's $23,065.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you’re thinking about short-term resale. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. The Durango’s broad appeal, strong powertrain lineup, and family-friendly utility should help it stay relevant with shoppers who want space and performance in one vehicle.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango safe?

The Durango earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side crash testing and four-star ratings in all other phases. It earned a score of Moderate for driver’s side small-front overlap testing from IIHS, and Good in all other crash tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Durango comes with front- and side-impact airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and trailer sway control. Rear parking sensors are available on the SXT and standard on all other trims, while the R/T, Citadel, and SRT add front- and rear parking sensors. The Technology Group package adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, and lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring plus rear cross-path detection are also available. The main caveat is that advanced driver-assistance features are not standard, so you need to check the exact vehicle carefully.

Should I buy a 2020 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It balances three-row practicality with muscle-car styling and multiple high-horsepower trims.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,373, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $20,682 average.
• It adds a new infotainment system and the available Tow N Go Package.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because prices are lower and the market still offers plenty of inventory. If you’re willing to pay more for newer tech and a more updated feel, the 2021 is the better path.
