Used 2020 Dodge Charger for Sale nearCharlotte, NC

How much does the 2020 Dodge Charger cost?

Prices have softened 6.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,347 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2020 Dodge Charger a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Dodge Charger earns a 4.9/5 user rating, and the expert rating is 8.5/10. The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, eye-catching design, and spacious, comfortable cabin. The review summary also points to a smooth ride and handling, which helps the Charger work well as both a family sedan and a fun daily driver.

The main trade-offs are that lower trims can feel underwhelming compared with the stronger versions, and some shoppers wish for more luxury features. That fits the Charger’s use case well: you’re buying it for muscle-car personality, roominess, and everyday practicality more than premium polish.

With 28.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Dodge Charger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling package with strong performance and comfort that many drivers are happy to live with over time. It also highlights the Charger’s spaciousness and smooth road manners, which usually matter a lot in long-term ownership.

The expert drive notes reinforce that impression by describing the Charger as a practical sedan with a wide range of powertrains and everyday usability. The cost-effectiveness notes also show that the most efficient version is still a V6, which can help keep ownership more manageable than the higher-output trims.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is choosing a harder-driven performance version without a careful maintenance and condition check.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Dodge Charger?

At 52.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-performance trim or a car with modified-looking wear. Focus on body condition, tire wear, brake condition, and signs of hard use, since the Charger’s performance-oriented nature can make condition differences more important than mileage alone.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SXT comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, remote start, push-button start, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, and a 7-inch touchscreen. The GT adds 20-inch wheels, a more pronounced lower front spoiler, a rear trunk lip spoiler, a hood scoop, dual-zone climate control, a WiFi hot spot, HD radio, and an 8.4-inch screen, making it the better-equipped everyday choice.
• Powertrain: The SXT and GT use a 3.6-liter V6, with 292 horsepower in the SXT and 300 horsepower in the GT. Both route power through an 8-speed automatic, and AWD is available on these trims if you want extra traction.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes front- and side-impact airbags, traction control, and rear parking sensors. Available driver-assistance features include forward-collision avoidance with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
• Infotainment: The Charger comes with a 7-inch touchscreen on the base trim and an 8.4-inch screen on other trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system also offers Bluetooth, USB connectivity, available satellite radio, available HD radio, and available navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient version returns 19 mpg city, 30 highway, and 23 combined. Adding AWD lowers that to 18 mpg city, 27 highway, and 21 combined.

Which 2020 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2020 Dodge Charger is offered in 4 trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, and Hellcat.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Charger’s core strengths at the lowest price. You still get the roomy cabin, rear parking sensors, remote start, push-button start, and the 7-inch touchscreen, so it’s the value play if you want the Charger shape and space without chasing extras.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale look and more everyday convenience features. The 20-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, WiFi hot spot, HD radio, and larger 8.4-inch screen make it feel more complete, and it also brings the 300-horsepower V6.
• R/T: This is the step for buyers who want a real V8 experience. It moves you into a 5.7-liter Hemi with 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque, plus an upgraded performance suspension and active exhaust, so it suits you if sound and straight-line punch matter most.
• Hellcat: This is the top-end choice for maximum performance and luxury content. It adds the largest engine in the lineup, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, blind-spot monitoring, and the widebody kit, so it’s for buyers who want the most extreme Charger experience.

Safety features are helpful options, but many are not standard on lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Dodge Charger?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,347 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.59% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,618, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Dodge Charger's resale value?

The current average of $22,618 sits slightly below last year's $24,214.

That decline suggests the Charger has softened in the used market, which can help you buy in at a more favorable price today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well the car has been maintained.

Higher-performance versions and cleaner examples should hold buyer interest better than rougher or heavily used cars. If you buy carefully now, you improve your odds of getting a stronger return later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Dodge Charger safe?

The 2020 Dodge Charger earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include a full array of front- and side-impact airbags, traction control, and rear parking sensors. Available driver-assistance features include forward-collision avoidance with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

A key caveat is that many of the advanced safety features are optional rather than standard, so you’ll want to verify equipment carefully on any used listing. The crash-prevention technology also earned the highest Superior score in IIHS testing.

Should I buy a 2020 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Prices have softened 6.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 stands out for its roomy sedan body, wide powertrain range, and available AWD.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,482, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $22,618 average.
• It adds a new track-ready variant with more extreme Hellcat performance.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter starting point because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and broad trim choice. If you’re willing to spend more for the newest performance variant, the 2021 is the better path.
