How much does the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro cost?

Prices have softened 4.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,065 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Camaros to compare.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.0/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the thrilling performance, strong engine, and fun driving experience. The Camaro’s appeal also comes through in its handling and its enthusiast-focused character.

The trade-offs are clear: poor ergonomic design and a cramped rear seat make it less practical for everyday use. The overview also frames it as a good fit if you want a driver’s car with a budget-friendly angle, especially in LT1 form.

With 29.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car people enjoy living with over time, especially because of its strong performance and fun-to-drive nature. The expert review also describes the Camaro as a capable all-rounder that delivers plenty of thrills without breaking your budget, which supports the idea that it can be a satisfying long-term ownership choice if you buy carefully.

The same review also emphasizes the Camaro’s sleeper appeal and its dynamic platform, both of which reinforce the sense that it’s built to be enjoyed rather than merely tolerated. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s compromises in ergonomics and safety equipment may matter more as the miles add up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chevrolet Camaro?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-performance trim or a car with modifications. Pay close attention to body condition, interior wear, and whether the car’s equipment matches the listing description.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT1’s sleeper look hides Camaro SS hardware underneath, while the broader lineup includes 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, SS, and ZL1 variants. The base-level feel is part of the Camaro’s appeal, but the content also makes clear that feature content and equipment expand as you move up the range.
• Powertrain: The LT1 uses a 6.2-liter V8 with 455 hp and 455 pound-feet of torque, paired with either a standard 6-speed manual or an available 10-speed automatic. It’s tuned for strong straight-line speed and confident back-road driving.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes stability control, a reversing camera, and Teen Driver. Available features include OnStar connected services, rear camera mirror, rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning, but advanced driver-assistance features are limited and several common systems are not offered.
• Infotainment: The standard setup includes a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, OnStar connected services, a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, and a 6-speaker Bose sound system. An 8-inch display, additional speakers, and connected navigation are available.
• Fuel efficiency: Official EPA ratings are 16 mpg city, 27 highway, and 20 combined.

Which 2020 Chevrolet Camaro trim should I buy?

The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is offered in 6 trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, SS, ZL1.

Here's the short version:

• 1LT: This is the entry point in the broader Camaro lineup, and it’s the trim that the LT1 builds on. If you want the lowest-cost path into the Camaro family, this is where the lineup starts.
• 2LT: This trim adds more equipment than the 1LT and sits in the middle of the lineup for shoppers who want a better balance of features and price.
• 3LT: This is the most feature-rich of the non-performance trims mentioned, and it’s the one to consider if you want more comfort and equipment without jumping to the V8 models.
• LT1: This is the best-value pick if you want Camaro performance without stretching too far. It delivers the sleeper look, the 6.2-liter V8, and the SS-style hardware at a lower price than the SS.
• SS: Choose this if you want the more obvious performance step up and the added hardware that comes with it, including Magnetic Ride Control.
• ZL1: This is the top performance choice for buyers who want the most extreme Camaro character and are willing to pay for it.

No matter which trim you choose, note that advanced safety features are not standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Camaro?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,065 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,780, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro's resale value?

The current average of $25,940 sits slightly below last year's $27,137.

That softer pricing suggests the Camaro has become a bit more accessible for used buyers, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim, since the market is already showing some downward pressure.

The Camaro’s enthusiast appeal should help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro safe?

The Camaro coupe gets an overall five-star rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for frontal-impact ratings for the driver and passenger. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it top marks in frontal- and side-impact testing, though roof crush strength is rated Acceptable rather than Good.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety setup is limited to stability control, a reversing camera, and Teen Driver. Available features include OnStar connected services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling, plus rear camera mirror, rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning on other versions.

The biggest caveat is that advanced driver-assistance features are not standard, and several common systems are not offered at all. That makes careful test-driving and condition checking especially important if safety tech matters to you.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The LT1 sleeper formula gives you SS-style hardware at a lower price.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $34,011, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,940 average.
• It keeps the Camaro’s muscle-car appeal while adding a newer model-year alternative.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the stronger buy because it combines lower pricing with strong owner satisfaction and a compelling performance story. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the cleaner alternative, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2020.
