Is the 2020 BMW 7 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights a dependable-feeling driving experience, with praise for the smooth ride and the kind of luxury and performance balance that owners can count on over time. At the same time, some drivers mention electronic components and interior-space concerns, so long-term ownership risk is more about complexity than basic durability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 BMW 7 Series?

At 70.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on electronics, interior condition, and signs of wear that can be costly to address in a large luxury sedan. It also makes sense to pay close attention to trunk space and cabin usability so the car matches how you plan to use it.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 BMW 7 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 495 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.90% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,008, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 BMW 7 Series's resale value?

The current average of $31,008 sits slightly below last year's $34,416.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer but may limit how much value you recover later. If you plan to resell, the best protection is buying well and choosing a clean, well-kept example. Strong condition and documented history matter more when a luxury sedan has already moved down the depreciation curve.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW 7 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want the updated look, strong owner satisfaction, and a market that has softened enough to create buying opportunities. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby older year may be worth considering, especially if you can find a cleaner example at a lower price.
