Is the 2020 BMW 7 Series a good car?

Generally — with a user rating of 4.36/5, this model year earns strong marks from owners. Is the 2020 BMW 7 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.36/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights a car that feels powerful, luxurious, and smooth to drive, which is a good sign for everyday dependability. At the same time, some drivers mention electronic issues, so used buyers should pay close attention to how well the car’s systems operate. For long-term ownership, that means your risk is less about basic drivability and more about the cost and complexity of keeping a large luxury sedan in top shape.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 BMW 7 Series?

At 70% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on electronics, interior condition, and signs of expensive wear, since owner feedback points to occasional electronic concerns and some space-related complaints. Because this is a complex luxury sedan, you’ll want to prioritize overall condition and maintenance quality over cosmetic appeal alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 BMW 7 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 466 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.34% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,566, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 BMW 7 Series's resale value?

The current average of $31,566 sits slightly below last year's $35,207.

That price movement suggests the market has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the range and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it’s time to resell. Demand should remain supported by the model’s luxury positioning and owner satisfaction.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.36/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW 7 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.36/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better pick if you want a full-size luxury sedan with strong owner approval and a softer price than last year. If you’re especially price-sensitive, it also makes sense to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
