Used 2020 Audi Q8 for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2020 Audi Q8 cost?

Prices have softened 13.03% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 610 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare across trims and conditions.

Is the 2020 Audi Q8 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Audi Q8 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Technology, and Safety.

The Q8 is positioned as a performance-focused crossover that is meant to work both on the street and on the track, and it sits in a competitive luxury segment against rivals like the BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, and Porsche Cayenne Coupe. It also offers plenty of cargo space and impressive technology, which helps it fit the needs of affluent buyers who want something more athletic than a traditional luxury SUV.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: expert testing calls the performance fairly pedestrian, and the ergonomic design is poor, so the cabin may not feel as polished in daily use as the styling suggests.

Good and great deals account for 41.8% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Audi Q8 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Q8 is described as a luxury SUV with strong everyday appeal, and its standard all-wheel-drive setup and smooth eight-speed automatic transmission support a composed ownership experience. Its turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine delivers sufficient power, and the transmission is described as delivering a smooth transition from gear to gear.

Audi also includes a four-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which helps with early ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a premium, tech-heavy SUV can become expensive to keep in top shape if prior maintenance was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Audi Q8?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the electronics, cabin controls, and any signs of wear in a vehicle that leans heavily on technology. Focus on overall condition, because this model’s upscale mission means neglected examples can feel tired quickly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Q8 comes in three trim levels: Audi Q8 Premium, Audi Q8 Prestige, and Audi Q8 Premium Plus. The base Q8 is the most straightforward choice, while the higher trims add more luxury equipment and are better suited if you want a richer feature set from the start.
• Powertrain: Every Q8 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard Quattro all-wheel drive. It makes 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, and it returns 17 mpg in the city, 21 mpg on the highway, and 18 mpg combined.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes high beam assist, automatic windshield wipers, parking sensors, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking. SQ8 and RS Q8 buyers also get Audi side assist, rear cross-traffic alert, rear automatic emergency braking, a 360-degree camera system, and vehicle exit warning as standard, while those features are available on the Q8.
• Infotainment: The Q8 uses Audi’s MMI system with a larger central screen and a smaller lower screen for climate controls. Standard tech includes navigation, Audi Virtual Cockpit, a WiFi hot spot, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, SiriusXM, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa integration, and front and rear smartphone compatibility.
• Fuel efficiency: The Q8 is rated at 17 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined.

Which 2020 Audi Q8 trim should I buy?

The 2020 Audi Q8 is offered in 3 trim levels: Audi Q8 Premium, Audi Q8 Prestige, and Audi Q8 Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• Audi Q8 Premium: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Q8 experience with the standard turbocharged V6, Quattro all-wheel drive, navigation, Audi Virtual Cockpit, wireless smartphone integration, and the model’s strong standard safety and convenience foundation. It makes the most sense if you want the Q8’s style and tech without paying for extras you may not need.
• Audi Q8 Prestige: This is the trim to target if you want a more complete luxury experience, since it builds on the base setup with more upscale equipment and a richer overall feel. It is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it balances features and price more effectively than the entry trim.
• Audi Q8 Premium Plus: This is the right pick if you want the most fully equipped standard Q8 and plan to keep the vehicle for a while. It suits you best if you want to minimize the need for option packages and prefer a more premium day-to-day experience.

Audi’s safety package is broad, but some advanced driver-assistance features are available rather than standard on the Q8, so check each listing carefully.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Audi Q8?

It looks like a buyer’s market if you’re shopping this model year, especially if you’re willing to compare listings closely and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 41.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 610 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.03% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,761, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Audi Q8's resale value?

The current average of $30,761 sits slightly below last year's $35,370.

That price movement suggests the Q8 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If the market stays steady, a well-kept example should be easier to position competitively than one bought near the top of the range. Strong equipment, clean history, and good condition will matter a lot when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Audi Q8 safe?

The Audi Q8 has received very good safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and near-perfect crash test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Q8 comes with basic advanced safety features including high beam assist, automatic windshield wipers, parking sensors, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking. Audi also offers additional driver-assistance tech such as active lane departure warning with collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, a head-up display with navigation assistance, intersection assist, turn assist, night vision assist with pedestrian and large animal detection, and predictive traffic efficiency assist.

Some of the more advanced safety features are not standard on the Q8, so you should confirm exactly which driver-assistance items are included on any used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2020 Audi Q8 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 41.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 model year is positioned as a strong challenger in a competitive luxury segment, with plenty of cargo space and impressive technology.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of price relief, inventory depth, and upscale features, the 2020 is the one to focus on first. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep comparing listings carefully and prioritize clean-history examples with the equipment you want most.
