Used 2020 Acura TLX for Sale nearPortland, OR

How much does the 2020 Acura TLX cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

With 759 listings, you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Acura TLX a good car?

Yes — 4.62/5 from owners, and the expert rating is 6.83/10. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners repeatedly praise the smooth ride, handling, and overall features, and they also like the appealing exterior design. The main trade-offs are that some drivers feel the performance does not fully match the price, and the interior layout can be frustrating.

That split fits the TLX’s role as a luxury sedan for you if driving feel and value matter more than the most modern cabin or the most intuitive interface. With 32.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Acura TLX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a car that many drivers find dependable and trouble-free enough to keep recommending, especially when they value the smooth ride and solid overall ownership experience. The expert review also emphasizes the TLX’s capable driving dynamics and comfortable, quiet daily-driving character.

The cost-effectiveness review adds that Acura regularly offers discounted lease deals, which reinforces the TLX’s value proposition. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about living with aging technology and finicky controls.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Acura TLX?

At 66.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the TLX’s cabin controls and infotainment are already a known weak point, make sure every screen, button, and driver-assist function works as intended on your test drive. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since that will tell you more than the badge alone.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A-Spec package adds 19-inch wheels, revised bumper designs, side sill skirts, and oversize round exhaust outlets, while the Technology Package adds comfort, convenience, safety, and infotainment enhancements. The PMC Edition sits at the top of the lineup with unique body-color and gloss black exterior accents.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 206-horsepower, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic driving the front wheels, while the higher-output setup uses a 290-hp, 3.5-liter V6 with a 9-speed automatic and torque-vectoring SH-AWD. The V6 delivers smooth, steady power and stronger driving enjoyment.
• Safety package: Every TLX has adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and road-departure mitigation. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is included on all but the base TLX with no option packages.
• Infotainment: The TLX uses a dual-screen setup with a non-touch top display and a touchscreen below it, and it includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The layout is dated and can be distracting, even though the Acura/ELS premium audio system sounds good.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review notes 23 mpg in combined driving for the tested V6 model.

Which 2020 Acura TLX trim should I buy?

The 2020 Acura TLX is offered in 3 trim levels: base TLX, A-Spec Package, and PMC Edition.

Here's the short version:

• base TLX: This is the entry point, but it misses the blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert unless you add option packages. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the richer equipment.
• A-Spec Package: This is the best-value choice if you want the TLX’s personality to come through more clearly. It adds the racy visual upgrades that make the car look more distinctive, and the review specifically recommends pairing it with the Technology Package for a stronger overall mix of comfort, convenience, safety, and infotainment.
• PMC Edition: This is the top-spec version with the full equipment set, the 290-hp V6, SH-AWD, and exclusive exterior treatment. It is the one to choose if you want the most complete and most enthusiast-focused TLX.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not standard on the base TLX without option packages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Acura TLX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 759 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,125, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Acura TLX's resale value?

The current average of $22,403 sits slightly below last year's $22,452.

That small decline suggests the TLX has been holding value fairly steadily rather than dropping sharply. For you as a future seller, that usually points to a market that is stable enough to avoid dramatic depreciation swings in the near term.

The TLX’s value-oriented positioning helps support demand, especially for shoppers who want a luxury sedan without paying top-tier luxury prices. Strong owner satisfaction also helps keep interest alive when you eventually list the car.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Acura TLX safe?

The 2020 Acura TLX does not qualify for a Top Safety Pick because it earns an Acceptable result rather than Good in the IIHS small overlap frontal-impact test on the driver’s side. It earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA test, including rollover.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every TLX includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and road-departure mitigation. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base TLX with no option packages.

The main caveat is that the driver-assistance systems can feel abrupt and less refined than newer rivals. That means the TLX gives you a solid safety feature set, but you should still pay close attention to how the systems behave during your test drive.

Should I buy a 2020 Acura TLX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It pairs strong value with the available V6 and SH-AWD setup, which is the year’s biggest enthusiast draw.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $27,117, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $22,403 average.
• It brings a new platform, exterior, interior, and powertrain choices.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and are comfortable with older tech, the 2020 is the smarter buy. If you want a newer-generation TLX with a more modern design and can stretch your budget, the 2021 is the cleaner upgrade. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2020 remains the more compelling path.
