How much does the 2019 Volvo S60 cost?

Prices have softened 12.47% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 300 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2019 Volvo S60 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Volvo S60 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its balance of performance, luxury, and style, along with a quiet, comfortable ride and excellent handling. The overview also points to strong value for money and standard advanced safety features, which helps explain why it appeals to shoppers who want a distinctive small luxury sedan that still competes directly with mainstream rivals in the class.

The main trade-offs are its unintuitive technology and poor ergonomic design, and the expert notes reinforce that with complaints about the Sensus interface and control layout. Even so, the market still shows 36.0% good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Volvo S60 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user summary points to a car that owners appreciate for its advanced features and safety, and it also reflects confidence in the car’s overall balance of performance, luxury, and style. That kind of feedback matters when you’re evaluating a used luxury sedan, because it suggests many drivers feel good about living with the car over time.

The expert notes also describe the S60 as a car with taut composure and a premium feel, which supports the idea that it’s built to be a satisfying long-term daily driver. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the car’s core appeal and more about making sure the specific example you choose has been maintained well and doesn’t have hidden wear from prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Volvo S60?

At 72.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in an accident or has higher mileage. Focus on condition details that matter most in a luxury sedan: interior wear, electronics behavior, and whether the car’s safety and convenience features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Momentum trim brings a panoramic moonroof, heated wiper-fluid nozzles, dual-zone climate control, a power driver’s seat with memory, a power front passenger seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a strong list of driver-assistance features. The R-Design adds fog lights, power-retractable side-view mirrors, dual integrated exhaust outlets, and an R-Design steering wheel with paddle shifters, while the Inscription adds genuine leather upholstery, 4-zone climate control, and the contents of the Advance Package.
• Powertrain: The T5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, routed to front-wheel drive. The T6 adds turbocharging and supercharging for 316 hp and 295 lb-ft with all-wheel drive, while the T8 plug-in hybrid combines the twin-charged engine with rear electric power for 400 net hp, 495 lb-ft of torque, and up to 31 mph full-electric operation.
• Safety package: The standard safety setup includes front- and side-impact airbags, a reversing camera, a tire-pressure-monitoring system, forward-collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, and traffic-sign recognition. The Advance Package adds a head-up display, headlight washers, a 360-degree camera, active bending headlights, and Pilot Assist, so check whether a used example has that package if you want the fuller driver-assistance suite.
• Infotainment: The Sensus system uses a large touchscreen interface, and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included. The system is also described as having a steep learning curve and occasional lag or freezing, so make sure the screen, menus, and climate controls all respond properly during your test drive.
• Fuel efficiency: The T6 is estimated at 21 mpg city, 32 highway, and 25 combined. The T5 is estimated at 24 mpg city, 36 highway, and 28 combined, and the T8 can operate in full-electric mode at speeds up to 31 mph with a 21-mile all-electric range.

Which 2019 Volvo S60 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Volvo S60 is offered in 3 trim levels: Momentum, R-Design, Inscription.

Here's the short version:

• Momentum: This is the best-value trim if you want the core S60 experience without stretching the budget. You still get the panoramic moonroof, heated wiper-fluid nozzles, dual-zone climate control, power front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a strong safety feature set.
• R-Design: This trim adds a sportier look and feel with fog lights, power-retractable mirrors, dual integrated exhaust outlets, and an R-Design steering wheel with paddle shifters. It suits you if you want the more expressive version of the S60 and don’t mind paying more for style and a few extra touches.
• Inscription: This is the upscale choice, with genuine leather upholstery, 4-zone climate control, and the contents of the Advance Package. It makes the most sense if you want the most comfort and the fullest feature set.

The Advance Package adds a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, active bending headlights, and Pilot Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Volvo S60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 300 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.47% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,846, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $17,846 sits slightly below last year's $20,388.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favorable if you’re planning to sell soon. If you own one, the current pricing trend means you may not recover as much as earlier sellers did, especially if your car has average mileage or visible wear.

On the other hand, a lower entry price can help keep the car attractive to future buyers who want a premium sedan without paying new-luxury money. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment and clean history should still draw interest, especially because the model has strong owner satisfaction and a distinctive design.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.47% compared with last year.

• The 2019 S60 stands out for its distinctive styling, standard advanced safety features, and strong value for money.

The bottom line: If you want a stylish small luxury sedan with strong safety equipment and a market that currently favors careful shoppers, the 2019 is a solid place to focus. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can use the softened pricing to your advantage and target the cleanest, best-equipped example you can find rather than paying up for a less compelling car.
