It also highlights a well-equipped package with standard EyeSight on all models, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane keep assist. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is finding a car that has been maintained well enough to preserve that comfort-and-safety advantage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Subaru Legacy?

At 65% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage or lower-priced listing. Focus on overall condition, because the best used Legacy will be the one that still feels solid, well-kept, and consistent with its safety-first reputation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Subaru Legacy?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 586 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.74% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,900, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $15,901 sits slightly below last year's $17,051.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you a better entry point now, but it also means future resale gains may be more gradual. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to limit depreciation when it’s time to sell. The Legacy’s practical appeal and safety focus should help it stay relevant with value-minded shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $17,732, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $15,901 average.
• It leans more heavily into efficiency and practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the stronger buy because pricing has eased and there are enough listings to shop carefully. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year, the 2020 is the secondary path for buyers who want to compare against a slightly updated take on the same practical formula.
