Is the 2019 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 RAM 2500 earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its performance, comfort, and towing capability, and they also highlight the upscale interior features and strong value for the equipment you get. Is the 2019 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in the ways that matter most for heavy-duty use, especially when it comes to towing confidence and overall capability. The repeated praise for the Cummins diesel, comfort, and long-haul usability suggests this is a truck many owners feel they can count on. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the truck’s core appeal and more about making sure a hard-working example has been maintained properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 RAM 2500?

At 69.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with prior damage or repeated use patterns. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on the suspension, steering, brakes, and any towing-related wear. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since heavy-duty trucks can vary a lot depending on how they were used.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,619 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.66% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,676, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $35,676 sits slightly below last year's $39,057.

That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter even more because buyers will have plenty of listings to compare against. Trucks that present well and show clear maintenance history are more likely to hold attention when it is time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $38,070, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $35,676 average.
• It adds a more luxurious and innovative cabin.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better primary path if you want a strong mix of capability, comfort, and a softer used-market price. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2019 is the smarter target; if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling cabin and can stretch your budget, the 2020 is worth a look.
