CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Summary
With 1,235 currently listed for sale and an average price of $27,905.00, 33.4% of 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class models for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class 4.67 / 5 stars.
64.0% of 2019 E-Class models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class stands out as a luxury mid-size car that blends comfort, technology, and a broad range of powertrains. In this generation, the E-Class sedan is described as looking like a scaled-down S-Class, with a luxurious, high-tech cabin and two side-by-side 12.3-inch display screens that create the appearance of one large screen. Standard equipment is generous even on the least expensive version, with electric adjustment for the steering wheel and front seats, a rear-view camera, satellite navigation, LED headlamps, and a wealth of driver-assistance safety features. That combination makes it feel like a true luxury car rather than simply a well-equipped sedan.
For 2019, the lineup includes rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive sedan versions, both with mild-hybrid technology and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The E350 sedan uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 295 horsepower, while the E450 4Matic sedan uses a 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine with 369 horsepower. The Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid sits at the top of the range with 577 horsepower, 553 lb-ft of torque, and a 0-60 mph time of less than four seconds. Buyers looking at this car are getting a model that was already known for strong comfort and prestige, but the tradeoff is that it remains expensive, and some owners have noted that the interior design is starting to show its age.

Solid as a rock. A real cruiser, pretty low to the ground but the interior is as impeccable as an Italian suit. Except it is German! Quiet, composed and no one can tell how old it is. Bought it as a second car, and it shines. Run flats are noisy, may need different tires but so far that’s it. Get one that has been cared for.

Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?
Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Reviewers describe it as smooth, powerful, and comfortable, and those themes usually matter when you want a car you can count on day after day. The feedback also points to a refined ownership experience rather than a finicky one, with the luxury and performance balance standing out most. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the driving experience and more about making sure the specific car has been well maintained.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?
At 63.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus your condition check on signs of bodywork, uneven panel gaps, interior wear, and any evidence that the car’s luxury features have not aged well.

What is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?
The current average of $28,052 sits slightly below last year's $28,820.
That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the car is maintained and presented. A clean history and strong condition matter more when the market is already showing some price pressure. If you buy well and keep the car in top shape, you improve your odds of holding value better than a neglected example.
