Used 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 for Sale nearBaltimore, MD

How much does the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have softened 1.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 586 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfortable driving experience, smooth ride, upscale interior features, performance, and handling. That lines up well with the car’s use-case: a compact car that feels more premium and engaging than basic transportation.

The main trade-offs are its unintuitive technology and cramped back seat. Even so, the overall package is especially appealing if you value driving enjoyment and refinement over maximum space or convenience.

With 35.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels comfortable, smooth, and upscale over time, and it also reflects confidence in the car’s performance and handling. That kind of praise usually matters most when you’re trying to judge whether a used compact car will feel dependable in daily use.

The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Mazda3’s composed ride, responsive acceleration, and athletic handling, which supports the idea that it should remain satisfying as mileage climbs. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which is a nice ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the car’s technology and packaging still suit your needs after years of use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Mazda MAZDA3?

At 63.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, alignment, and interior wear. Because the car’s appeal depends so much on refinement, you’ll want to focus on how well the cabin, controls, and seats have held up. A test drive should also confirm that the technology works the way you expect and that the car still feels composed on the road.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base sedan is lighter on content than the base hatchback, while the hatchback adds 18-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, dual-zone automatic climate control, a drowsiness alert, synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped shift knob. The Preferred trims add an 8-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, power-adjustable side mirrors, satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system. The Premium trims add leather seats, a power moonroof, a head-up display, adaptive headlights, and the manual transmission. The base hatchback is the best-value trim.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with 186 horsepower. You can pair it with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, and AWD is available with the automatic. The car is tuned for responsive acceleration, athletic handling, and composed ride quality.
• Safety package: Mazda’s i-Activsense suite includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and driver-attention alerts. It comes standard on the base hatchback, but not on the base sedan; many features require the Select Sedan trim.
• Infotainment: The car uses an 8.8-inch MazdaConnect screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is remote-controlled rather than touch-operated, so it’s worth testing the interface yourself before you buy.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient version returns 27 mpg city, 36 highway, 30 combined. Other versions include 25/33/28, 25/35/29, 26/35/30, and the least efficient AWD hatchback at 24/32/27.

Which 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 5 trim levels: base Sedan, Select Sedan, Preferred Sedan, Premium Sedan, and base Hatchback.

Here's the short version:

• base Sedan: This is the entry point, but it gives up some of the content that makes the Mazda3 feel special. If you want the lowest starting price and can live without the hatchback’s extra standard equipment, it’s the simplest way in.
• base Hatchback: This is the CarGurus Recommended Trim and the best-value choice. It adds 18-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, dual-zone automatic climate control, a drowsiness alert, synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped shift knob, while also getting the standard i-Activsense safety suite.
• Select Sedan: This trim closes much of the gap between the base sedan and the hatchback by adding more of the desirable equipment buyers will notice every day. It’s the sedan to target if you want a better-balanced feature set without moving too far up the price ladder.
• Preferred Sedan: This is the comfort-focused step up, adding an 8-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, power-adjustable side mirrors, satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system. It suits you if you want a more upscale daily driver.
• Premium Sedan: This is the most luxurious sedan trim, with leather seats, a power moonroof, a head-up display, adaptive headlights, and the manual transmission. It’s the right pick if you want the richest feature set and value the manual.

The base hatchback gets the standard i-Activsense safety suite, while many of those features require the Select Sedan trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Mazda MAZDA3?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 586 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.91% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,927, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $16,922 sits slightly below last year's $17,251.

That downward movement suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to protect value later.

The model’s premium feel and strong owner satisfaction should help it stay appealing to used shoppers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes with Mazda’s i-Activsense suite, which includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and driver-attention alerts. That suite is standard on the base hatchback, but not on the base sedan, so trim choice matters if safety equipment is a priority.

The main caveat is that some of those features require moving up to the Select Sedan trim if you start with the sedan. If you want the fullest standard safety package, the hatchback is the easier path.

Should I buy a 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It delivers a premium-feeling cabin, strong handling, and standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $17,667, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $16,922 average.
• It adds a more premium-feeling compact-car experience with stylish design and easy-to-use technology.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and a compelling feature set. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year, the 2020 is the cleaner alternative for shoppers who want the same upscale direction with a slightly more refined presentation.
