Used 2021 Mazda MAZDA3 for Sale nearBaltimore, MD

How much does the 2021 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 598 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its sporty design, high-quality interior, and fun driving experience, and they also appreciate its fuel efficiency. That lines up with the car’s appeal as a compact model that feels more upscale and engaging than many mainstream rivals. The trade-offs are familiar: the manual transmission is not available, visibility is poor, and the technology is described as outdated. For you, that means this Mazda3 makes the most sense if you want style and driving enjoyment first, not maximum practicality or the newest interface. With 36.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2021 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback also points to a car that feels dependable and trouble-free over time, with buyers highlighting the kind of ownership experience you can count on. On the road, the expert review describes the powertrain and dynamic tuning as smooth, consistent, and predictable, and says the car is one you come to know and trust. Mazda also notes that the safety systems are designed to support the driver rather than replace the driver, which reinforces the sense of thoughtful engineering. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the car’s condition and maintenance history match its strong reputation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mazda MAZDA3?

At 72.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had prior bodywork or shows uneven panel gaps, tire wear, or interior wear that doesn’t match the mileage. Focus on overall condition, because the Mazda3’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained and whether its premium feel is still intact.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Premium Plus trim adds a high-definition surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, low-speed reverse automatic braking, and Traffic Jam Assist, while the standard setup still includes a broad safety suite. If you want the most complete feature set, this is the trim to target.
• Powertrain: The turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, and it delivers strong output on premium fuel with a smoother, more predictable character than many high-powered compact cars.
• Safety package: The i-ActiveSense suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and automatic high-beam LED headlights with Adaptive Front Lighting System. The Premium Plus trim adds the surround-view camera, parking sensors, reverse automatic braking, and Traffic Jam Assist.
• Infotainment: Mazda Connect uses an 8.8-inch display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a three-year trial subscription to Mazda Connected Services. It is not touch-sensitive, and the system also includes a WiFi hotspot option and a MyMazda smartphone app.
• Fuel efficiency: During testing, the turbo model averaged 20.4 mpg, while Mazda cites 27 mpg combined and about 24 mpg in real-world driving.

Which 2021 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 2 trim levels: standard and Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the better value if you want the Mazda3’s core strengths — stylish design, premium cabin materials, and a strong safety package — without paying for the extra luxury and parking aids. It still gives you the upscale feel that defines the car.
• Premium Plus: This is the trim to choose if you want the most complete version of the Mazda3, especially the surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, reverse automatic braking, and Traffic Jam Assist. It suits you best if you want the highest feature content and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is a major part of the Mazda3’s appeal, and the Premium Plus trim adds the most notable upgrades.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Mazda MAZDA3?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective, but good listings still deserve quick attention.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 598 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,450, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $19,050 sits slightly below last year's $19,216.

That small decline suggests the Mazda3 has held its value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For you as a future seller, that kind of stability can make pricing easier because the market has already shown a consistent willingness to pay around this level. It also means a well-kept example should remain competitive if you keep mileage, condition, and service history in good shape.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2021 Mazda MAZDA3 earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA assessment, including rollover resistance, and it had previously carried an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating. It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The i-ActiveSense suite is Mazda’s driver-assistance package, and it includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, automatic high-beam LED headlights, and an Adaptive Front Lighting System. On the Premium Plus trim, you also get a high-definition surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, low-speed reverse automatic braking, and Traffic Jam Assist. That means the most advanced safety features are concentrated in the higher trim, so you should check carefully if you’re comparing listings.

Should I buy a 2021 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The turbocharged version is described as delightful, with smooth, predictable power and a more upscale character.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $17,677, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $19,050 average.
• It feels more premium than many mass-market rivals.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $20,669, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $19,050 average.
• It adds fresh appearance and equipment updates, including a Carbon Edition and new premium touches.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price stability, owner satisfaction, and upscale driving character, the 2021 is the primary pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2020 is the value-oriented alternative; if you want the newest updates, look to the 2022.
