There are 1,608 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Hyundai Sonata earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights a car that many people find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centered on comfort, fuel economy, and a trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers. Some owners mention minor issues, but the overall tone suggests the Sonata can be a sensible long-term choice if you buy carefully and verify the condition of the specific vehicle you’re considering.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Hyundai Sonata?

At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden damage or repair quality issues. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of prior bodywork, since a clean-looking listing is not always a clean-history listing.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,608 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,588, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $12,588 sits slightly below last year's $13,999.

That price movement suggests the Sonata has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price and keep the car in good condition, you can reduce the impact of future depreciation. The model’s broad appeal, comfort, and efficiency should help it remain easy to market to budget-minded sedan shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $11,854, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $12,588 average.
• It offers a smart value with a roomy cabin and strong safety credentials.

The bottom line: If you want the better balance of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and market availability, the 2019 is the stronger default choice. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2018 is the better budget path and may be worth a close look.
