Why it stands out
The 2019 GMC Yukon stands out as a full-size SUV that blends a commanding presence with the kind of room and comfort families expect from a large three-row vehicle. It sits in a generation that brought a more modern look, a lower floor, and more passenger and cargo space, while still keeping the Yukon’s restrained, understated styling. For shoppers who want something substantial without flashy design, that balance is a big part of its appeal.
By 2019, the Yukon’s fourth-generation updates had already given it a standard eight-inch infotainment touchscreen, multiple USB-A ports, a standard Bose sound system, and fold-flat second- and third-row seats. It also benefited from added sound-deadening materials and laminated glass for the windshield and front windows, which helped make the cabin quieter. Connectivity was a strength too, since Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were added in this generation, and 2019 carried the generation’s later-year equipment without major changes beyond new paint colors.
There are tradeoffs, though. The Yukon’s strengths in space and features come with poor fuel economy, uncomfortable seats, and interior materials that can feel cheap. Even so, for buyers who value a roomy, well-equipped, and imposing SUV, the 2019 GMC Yukon remains appealing because it delivers a lot of utility and presence in a package that is still relatively straightforward.

The Denali with 22 inch wheels and locks, sunroof, 4wd, the ultimate package addition, with superior entertainment, will work for me. The only other make I would compare would be the Escalade Luxury or premium package. The Yukon is definitely more rugged, however.

I love the GMC Yukon. This is my second one. I put over 200K miles on the last one, it still looks and runs great. I am just in the mood for a new vehicle. If you are looking for a Large SUV, this is my pick. I just wish there were more options decisions that could be made. They are nice, but A lot of them I dont need.

If you find a listing below $28,467.26, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2019 GMC Yukon a good car?
Yes — the 2019 GMC Yukon earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction.
Owners consistently praise its ruggedness, great features, and overall value. The roomy cabin and spacious third row make it a strong fit if you want a full-size SUV for family hauling, while the Denali version adds a more upscale feel for buyers who want extra luxury.
With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a solid chance of finding a competitive price if you shop carefully.
Is the 2019 GMC Yukon reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The user feedback also points to a vehicle that feels rugged, dependable, and well suited to buyers who want something they can count on over time. That said, some owners mention a few shortcomings, so a careful pre-purchase check still matters.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about enthusiasm and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained properly.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 GMC Yukon?
At 66% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, interior, and mechanical condition, since condition differences can matter a lot in a large SUV like this.
Focus especially on signs of wear that could affect daily use, because a roomy family vehicle is only a good buy if it still feels solid and well cared for.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 GMC Yukon?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.
- Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,551 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.74% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 66.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $28,467.26, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 GMC Yukon's resale value?
The current average of $28,464 sits slightly below last year's $32,618.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more selectively now but may also mean future resale gains are harder to count on in the short term. If you plan to sell later, condition and maintenance will matter even more because buyers will likely compare your Yukon against a fairly broad pool of used listings.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 66% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.74% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line:
If you want a full-size SUV with strong owner satisfaction, a roomy cabin, and a market that has softened enough to create some buying opportunities, the 2019 is the primary path to consider. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby older year may be worth a look, but you should expect to trade some of the 2019's appeal in features and overall market freshness.
