CarGurus Analysis: 2019 GMC Yukon

Summary
With 1,564 currently listed for sale and an average price of $28,248, 33.9% of 2019 GMC Yukons for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 GMC Yukon 5 / 5 stars.
67.2% of 2019 Yukon models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 GMC Yukon stands out as a full-size SUV that blends a commanding presence with a restrained, upscale look. It has long been known for premium amenities, plush materials, and modern technology, and it remains a roomy, well-appointed family hauler with lots of interior space. For buyers who want something substantial without flashy styling, that understated character is part of its appeal.
For this generation, the Yukon benefits from a lower floor that creates more cargo area and passenger space, along with a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a push-button gear system on the dash, nine camera views, tri-zone climate control, and an eight-inch digital gauge cluster. It also offers a 277-horsepower 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged diesel engine alongside 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 and 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 options, with a 10-speed automatic transmission standard across the lineup. The Yukon also remains one of the few full-size, three-row SUVs with a V8 engine and a turbodiesel, which helps set it apart in a crowded segment.
There are tradeoffs, though. The Yukon’s safety tech is not standard across the board, and the most advanced technology is optional rather than standard. Reliability also hasn’t been great so far this generation, so shoppers are likely to value its space, features, and strong road presence more than long-term peace of mind.

The Denali with 22 inch wheels and locks, sunroof, 4wd, the ultimate package addition, with superior entertainment, will work for me. The only other make I would compare would be the Escalade Luxury or premium package. The Yukon is definitely more rugged, however.

I love the GMC Yukon. This is my second one. I put over 200K miles on the last one, it still looks and runs great. I am just in the mood for a new vehicle. If you are looking for a Large SUV, this is my pick. I just wish there were more options decisions that could be made. They are nice, but A lot of them I dont need.

| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $28,295 |
| Year-Round Low | $28,304.85 |
| Year-Round High | $32,478.11 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $32,477 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −12.88% |
Prices have softened 12.88% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,562 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $28,304.85, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2019 GMC Yukon a good car?
Yes — owners rate it 5/5, which points to very strong satisfaction with this model year.
Reviewers consistently praise its ruggedness, great features, and overall value, and many also call out the Denali version for its luxury feel and spaciousness. That lines up well with the Yukon’s role as a full-size SUV for you if you want a roomy, well-equipped, and imposing family vehicle with a straightforward layout. The market also shows 32.8% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2019 GMC Yukon reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with comments that emphasize ruggedness and value over time. If you want a large SUV you can count on for family duty, that kind of long-term confidence matters.
For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by heavy use.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 GMC Yukon?
At 66.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-mileage or heavily optioned trucks where wear can be harder to spot. Focus your condition check on the cabin, seats, electronics, and overall signs of use, since those areas matter most in a large family SUV.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 GMC Yukon?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,562 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.88% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 66.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $28,304.85, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 GMC Yukon's resale value?
The current average of $28,295 sits slightly below last year's $32,477.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you if you buy now and later resell into a steadier pricing environment. For a future seller, the current softness means your best resale outcome will depend more on condition, mileage, and documentation than on broad market momentum alone.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 66.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.88% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line:
If you want a full-size SUV with strong owner approval, solid feature content, and a market that has become more favorable on price, the 2019 is the primary path to consider. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year with similar equipment but a lower asking price may be worth a closer look, especially if you can find a cleaner example with strong service history.
