Is the 2019 GMC Canyon a good car?

Yes — the 2019 GMC Canyon earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its stylish look, comfortable cabin, smooth power, and easy driving and parking. It also fits well if you want a midsize pickup that feels more upscale and usable for everyday driving without moving up to a full-size truck. Is the 2019 GMC Canyon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as reliable, dependable, and comfortable to live with, with many noting smooth performance and a truck they can count on. That kind of feedback suggests the Canyon can be a sensible used buy if you prioritize ownership confidence, though you should still watch for wear-related issues that come with age and mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 GMC Canyon?

At 69.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, frame, suspension, and interior condition, since those areas can reveal how hard the truck has been used. If you’re comparing multiple listings, focus on maintenance records and overall condition rather than price alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 GMC Canyon?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value if you move on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 726 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,440, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $23,476 sits slightly below last year's $24,631.

That tells you the Canyon has already moved through some depreciation, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. The softer price trend suggests future sellers may need to stay competitive on condition, mileage, and equipment to stand out. If you buy well and keep the truck in strong shape, you’ll be better positioned to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Canyon makes the most sense if you want a midsize pickup with a more upscale feel, strong owner approval, and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If your priority is the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2019 is a solid target when you want a balanced mix of comfort, features, and value.
