overall

Summary
With 9,486 currently listed for sale and an average price of $26,364, 30.4% of 2019 Ford F-150s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Ford F-150 4.57 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.17 / 10.
74.2% of 2019 F-150 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Ford F-150 stands out as a truck that stays current with only modest updates for the model year, even as completely redesigned competitors arrive. That makes it appealing to buyers who want a familiar full-size pickup that still feels relevant, rather than a ground-up rethink. It also fits the modern idea of a luxury truck, with the kind of versatility shoppers expect from a vehicle that can tow, haul, carry people and goods, handle family duty, and still serve as a night-out ride.
Owners’ feedback reinforces that appeal, with many praising the 2019 Ford F-150 for its comfort, strong power, and wide array of features. Value is another recurring strength, especially relative to competitors. The main cautions are also practical ones: some drivers point to interior quality in lower trims and pricing that can feel higher than expected.

The Ford Raptors are sharp looking powerful trucks. I personally like the 15-20 bodies better that 21-25. The luxury features are typically fantastic. When equipped with heated/cooled leather seats it's hard to beat. The premium price is hard to swallow but being a few years old makes them more reasonable. The newer Tremor trims are good comparisons is you love Ford trucks and can't stomach the price of a Raptor.

The expert drive notes also describe the diesel setup as smooth, quiet, and confident in most driving situations, which supports the sense that the truck is easy to live with over time.
The diesel engine’s stop/start system can be noticeable, and that kind of added complexity is worth paying attention to on a used example. For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is less about the truck’s core appeal and more about how well a specific listing has been maintained and used.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford F-150?
At 74.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then focus your inspection on body condition, repair quality, and signs of hard use. Because this truck is often bought for work, towing, and family duty, it pays to check for wear that matches the seller’s story. If you’re comparing multiple listings, prioritize the cleanest example over the cheapest one.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base XL is a true work truck with a reversing camera, AM/FM radio, a 4.2-inch audio-system screen, and dynamic hitch assist, while the XLT adds power windows and locks plus an 8-inch Sync 3 screen. Higher trims add more comfort and luxury, and the Limited brings the most upscale equipment.
- Powertrain: Engine choices include a 3.3-liter V6, a 2.7-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, a 5.0-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V6. The diesel is smooth and quiet on the road, and it can tow up to 11,400 pounds when properly equipped.
- Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes front- and side-impact airbags, traction control, and a reversing camera. Available driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert. The 360-degree camera system is standard on the Limited and optional on the rest of the lineup.
- Infotainment: The base XL uses a 4.2-inch screen with Bluetooth, while XLT and higher trims get Sync 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen. Sync 3 supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an available Wi-Fi hotspot appears on higher trims.
- Fuel efficiency: The diesel returns 22 mpg city, 30 highway, and 25 combined with rear-wheel drive, or 20 city, 25 highway, and 22 combined with 4-wheel drive. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost gets 20 city, 26 highway, and 22 combined with rear-wheel drive, while the V8 with 4-wheel drive returns 16 city, 22 highway, and 18 combined.
Which 2019 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?
The 2019 Ford F-150 is offered in 7 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- XL: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the lineup and can live without the nicer cabin and tech upgrades.
- XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds power windows and locks plus the larger Sync 3 touchscreen without jumping too far up the price ladder.
- Lariat: Choose this if you want a clear comfort upgrade, including a leather interior, heated and ventilated front seats, and satellite radio.
- King Ranch: This trim leans into luxury-truck character with distinctive interior treatment and upscale presentation, making it a strong fit if you want comfort with personality.
- Platinum: This is the more polished luxury choice, adding wood-panel interior details and power-deploying running boards.
- Raptor: This is the off-road performance model, with a wide-body kit, underbody armor, and specially designed Fox Racing Shox.
- Limited: This is the top luxury pick, with 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, a dual-panel moonroof, dual exhaust, and massaging seats.
The Limited is the only trim with the 360-degree camera system standard; it’s optional on the rest of the lineup.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford F-150?

- Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 9,524 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.42% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 74.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $26,298, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Ford F-150's resale value?
The current average of $26,298 sits slightly below last year's $28,103.
That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money today, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the key advantage is that the F-150 still has broad appeal, so well-kept examples should remain easy to move. Condition, trim, and equipment will matter a lot when you eventually list it.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2019 Ford F-150 safe?
The 2019 Ford F-150 earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety features include front- and side-impact airbags, traction control, and a reversing camera. The available driver-assistance suite adds blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert. The 360-degree camera system is standard on the Limited and optional on the rest of the lineup, so lower trims may need to be optioned more carefully if you want that extra visibility.
Should I buy a 2019 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 74.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.42% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2019 adds a new Power Stroke turbodiesel V6 and keeps the lineup broad and versatile.
Consider the 2018 if:
- At $24,132, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $26,298 average.
- It’s a highly well-rounded pickup with strong towing and fuel economy.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $28,629, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $26,298 average.
- It brings a more accommodating modern interior and comfortable road manners.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, features, and broad capability, the 2019 is the primary year to target. If your budget is tighter, the 2018 is the value play; if you want a newer-feeling cabin and can spend more, the 2020 is the upgrade path.
