How much does the 2019 Ford Edge cost?

Prices have softened 8.53% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,795 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Ford Edge earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its performance, comfort, and features, and they also call out the spacious interior and strong power. That lines up well with the Edge’s role as a midsize, two-row SUV that gives you backseat room and cargo space for family duty and long trips.

You also get a broader appeal than a typical family hauler because Ford offers an ST trim for shoppers who want a more athletic driving experience. Even so, some owners mention sluggish acceleration and missing conveniences such as automatic side mirrors.

With 32.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with repeated praise for performance, comfort, and features. The expert evaluation also says the EcoBoost 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder “gets the job done and won’t let you down,” which reinforces the sense that the standard powertrain is built to handle everyday use without drama.

Ford also includes a full suite of standard safety and driver-assistance features, which can help reduce stress in daily driving. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some listings may have been used hard or may be missing the conveniences you expect, so condition and equipment verification matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford Edge?

At 74.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage or lower-priced example. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, push-button start, and rain-sensing wipers, while the SEL adds black roof rails, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The ST adds blacked-out styling, 20-inch machined aluminum wheels, an upgraded exhaust system, leather seating, and ambient lighting, while the Titanium adds 19-inch alloy wheels and standard leather upholstery, wireless charging, remote start, and a premium sound system.
• Powertrain: Non-ST trims use a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. The ST uses a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, paired with the same 8-speed automatic and AWD.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Co-Pilot360 Assist+ adds adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, and lane-centering, and it’s available on trims above the SE.
• Infotainment: The base system uses a 4.2-inch non-touchscreen with USB, WiFi hotspot, streaming music, Bluetooth, and voice recognition. An 8-inch Sync 3 system is available on the SEL and standard on the Titanium and ST, and it adds Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.0-liter front-wheel-drive setup returns 22 mpg city, 29 highway, and 25 combined. The ST returns 19/26/21.

Which 2019 Ford Edge trim should I buy?

The 2019 Ford Edge is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Edge experience with standard safety tech and basic convenience features. It makes sense if you want the lowest price, but the base infotainment setup is underwhelming.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim because it adds the features most shoppers will actually notice, including dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, and access to the better 8-inch Sync 3 system. It also can be equipped with useful packages that add leather, heated seats, remote start, and a hands-free liftgate.
• Titanium: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel, since it makes leather upholstery, wireless charging, and remote start standard and adds a premium sound system. It’s the trim to target if comfort and convenience matter more than price.
• ST: This is the performance choice, with the 2.7-liter V6, AWD, sportier styling, and stronger acceleration. It suits you best if you want the Edge to feel genuinely quick rather than just practical.

Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite is standard, and Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on trims above the SE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Edge?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,795 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.53% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,935, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $14,935 sits slightly below last year's $16,328.

That decline suggests the Edge has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help future sellers if prices stabilize. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it’s time to sell.

The market also appears reasonably active, which can help support demand for clean, well-equipped examples. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge safe?

The 2019 Ford Edge earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in frontal crash, side crash, and rollover tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. If you want more advanced assistance, Co-Pilot360 Assist+ adds adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, and lane-centering on trims above the SE.

Should I buy a 2019 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 Edge pairs a roomy two-row layout with an available ST trim that adds real performance character.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $16,492, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $14,935 average.
• It adds a more up-to-date feel with standard tech and safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter buy because pricing has softened and the model still delivers the space, safety, and feature set most shoppers want. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2020 is the cleaner alternative, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2019 and target a well-equipped SEL or a clean, fairly priced ST.

How does the 2019 Ford Edge compare to the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox?

Our experts score the 2019 Ford Edge 7.3/10 and the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox 7.2/10. The Edge brings more power, a stronger performance option, and a higher safety score, while the Equinox counters with better fuel economy and a lower average used price. You also get more listings to choose from in the Equinox, but the Edge has the stronger accident-free share and a slightly better deal rate.
