CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Dodge Challenger

Summary
With 208 currently listed for sale near Orlando, FL and an average price of $25,216, 17.3% of 2019 Dodge Challengers for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Dodge Challenger 4.91 / 5 stars.
81.3% of 2019 Challenger models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Dodge Challenger stands out as a muscle car that blends old-school attitude with modern usability. It is part of the Challenger’s third generation, a long-running design that stayed largely unchanged while Dodge kept it fresh with different powertrains, colors, special editions, and a 2015 facelift. That formula gives the car a distinctive appeal: it looks and feels like a classic American coupe, but it also offers a user-friendly Uconnect infotainment system with a touchscreen, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, which makes it more practical than its retro styling might suggest.
For buyers, the 2019 Challenger’s biggest draw is choice. The model line included Pentastar V6 and Hemi V8 engines, manual and automatic transmissions, and performance hardware such as adaptive suspension, launch control, and Brembo brakes and calipers. Dodge also offered widebody variations for some trims in 2019, adding broader fenders, along with special-edition touches like spoilers, hood scoops, unique fascia and grille designs, special upholstery, and distinctive badging. That variety helps the Challenger cover a wide range of tastes, from entry-level cruising to serious performance.
There are tradeoffs, though. The Challenger’s size and muscle-car character can make it less easygoing in some conditions, and owners have noted concerns about visibility and snowy-weather handling. It also carries the usual costs that come with this kind of car, including insurance and fuel. Even so, for shoppers who want a coupe with strong personality, plenty of powertrain variety, and a cabin that still feels modern, the 2019 Dodge Challenger remains a compelling choice.

I love it. It’s everything I’ve been looking for. If you’re looking for entry into muscle cars but you’re a little intimidated by the V8 this is definitely a good option, or if you want a good daily this is the way to go!

Just about all the features you might want in a performance big engine sports car. This five year old vehicle is a good value considering the mileage, condition and depreciation curve. What’s missing? Sunroof maybe but not a deal breaker for me. Other models to consider would be a Corvette or Camaro.

Is the 2019 Dodge Challenger a good car?
Yes — the 2019 Dodge Challenger earns a 4.91/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
Drivers consistently praise its power, stylish design, and comfortable ride, and many appreciate the old-school muscle-car feel paired with modern features. The overview also highlights its user-friendly Uconnect system, plus Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which helps make it more usable as a daily driver than its retro styling might suggest. With 28.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2019 Dodge Challenger reliable?
Owners rate it 4.91/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Drivers’ feedback points to a car that feels dependable in the ways owners care about most, with praise centered on the overall ownership experience and the confidence that comes from a model people enjoy living with over time. The same review summary also emphasizes the Challenger’s comfortable ride and strong appeal, which often go hand in hand with repeat satisfaction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the car’s character and more about how each individual example was treated and maintained.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Dodge Challenger?
At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should run a vehicle history report before you get too far into the process, especially if you are comparing multiple listings at similar prices. Put a pre-purchase inspection at the top of your checklist so you can evaluate body condition, signs of prior repair, and overall wear. Because this model can attract enthusiastic owners, focus on how well the car was maintained and whether the condition matches the seller’s asking price.

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,789 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.60% compared with last year.

What is the 2019 Dodge Challenger's resale value?
The current average of $24,605 sits slightly below last year's $25,006.
That tells you the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean a seller needs to price competitively later. If you plan to resell, the current trend suggests you should pay close attention to purchase price and condition, because those factors will matter when it is time to exit. Strong demand for this model’s style and performance can still support resale, especially if you buy a well-kept example.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.60% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.91/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $29,053, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $24,605 average.
- It adds a 50th Anniversary package for some trims.
The bottom line: Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and are willing to shop carefully for condition and history. Consider the 2020 if you want to pay more for a slightly fresher take and the added special-package appeal, but price-sensitive buyers will likely find the 2019 the smarter buy.
