Used 2019 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearGrand Rapids, MI

How much does the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 11.29% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,877 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and conditions.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, spacious interior, and good fuel economy, and many also like the powerful engine and feature set. In use, it fits you well if you want a compact SUV that emphasizes comfort, everyday practicality, and easy commuting over excitement. Even so, the market still shows only 30.4% good or great deals, so value depends on finding the right listing.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reviewers repeatedly describe it as dependable for daily driving, with a comfortable, trouble-free feel and enough confidence for long-term ownership. The expert evaluation also points to a smooth-riding, easy-to-live-with compact SUV that should suit you well if you want a straightforward family vehicle. If you buy used, your biggest long-term risk is choosing a poorly maintained example with missing features or unresolved wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Equinox?

At 63.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with prior bodywork or higher mileage. Pay close attention to visibility equipment, infotainment operation, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re considering. Because lower trims can be sparse, it’s worth confirming the exact equipment list before you commit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L trim is special-order only and lacks a spare tire, a compass, and most paint choices, while the LS adds only modest equipment. The LT is the practical starting point, and the Premier is where advanced safety features become available.
• Powertrain: The 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder makes 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, and it is paired with a 6-speed automatic. It returns 26 mpg city and 32 mpg highway with FWD, while the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivers 252 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: The available driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise, forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection with auto braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist. Several of these features are not standard until the top-tier Premier trim, and some are optional only on the LT.
• Infotainment: The updated system uses an 8-inch touchscreen, and it includes standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The new HD cameras are a major visibility upgrade, and the system also supports navigation on equipped models.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-liter engine is rated at 26 mpg city and 32 mpg highway with FWD. The 2.0-liter turbocharged AWD setup is estimated at 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.

Which 2019 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LS, LT, Premier.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the cheapest trim on paper, but it is special-order only and lacks a spare tire, a compass, and most paint choices. You should generally skip it unless price is your only concern.
• LS: This is the real starting point, but it adds only limited equipment over the L. It makes sense only if you want the lowest-cost in-stock Equinox and can live without much content.
• LT: This is the best-value trim because it opens the door to the more desirable equipment mix, including the available 8-inch touchscreen, HD camera upgrades, and more useful option packages. If you want the most balanced used Equinox, this is the trim to target.
• Premier: This is the trim to choose if you want the advanced safety features and the fullest equipment list. It suits you best if you care more about content and convenience than purchase price.

Safety features such as blind-spot monitoring are only optional on the LT and not standard until Premier.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price softness to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,877 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.29% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,715, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $13,715 sits slightly below last year's $15,461.

That decline suggests the Equinox has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer pricing environment than owners saw a year ago. If you plan to resell later, condition and equipment will matter more because the market is already discounting the model year. Well-kept examples with desirable features should hold up better than stripped or heavily worn ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox earns Top Safety Pick recognition from the IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety setup includes features such as forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise, pedestrian detection with auto braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist, though several of those features are not standard on lower trims. The headlights are a weak point, with Marginal IIHS ratings on both lower-trim halogens and upper-trim HIDs, although the available LED setup addresses that issue. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to trim level and option content.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds HD rear-view and surround-view cameras plus an updated infotainment system.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $12,160, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $13,715 average.
• It introduced the redesigned compact-SUV format and a clearer identity.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $15,167, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $13,715 average.
• It adds standard advanced safety features and easier everyday usability.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2019 if you want the best mix of updated tech, safety, and used-market pricing. If your budget is tighter, the 2018 can save you money, while the 2020 makes sense if you want a newer-feeling feature set and are willing to pay more.
