Used 2019 Buick Envision for Sale nearDetroit, MI

How much does the 2019 Buick Envision cost?

Prices have softened 5.97% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 625 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Buick Envision a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Buick Envision earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, luxury features, smooth ride, spacious interior, and value compared with higher-end brands. That lines up with its positioning as a compact luxury SUV for younger luxury shoppers who want an upscale alternative without moving into a larger vehicle class. The main tradeoff is that the price to get there can feel too high, especially if you want more room or more advanced features.

The market also shows 35.4% good or great deals, so there are still some attractive listings if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Buick Envision reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a vehicle that feels comfortable, luxury-oriented, and value-conscious, with many drivers highlighting the smooth ride and the sense that it delivers more premium appeal than its badge suggests. That kind of praise usually lines up with a car people feel good about living with over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes a quiet cabin and a composed ride, which supports the impression of a dependable daily driver.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you’ll be satisfied with the equipment level and pricing relative to what you get.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Buick Envision?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the condition of the drivetrain, electronics, and driver-assistance features, since the Envision’s appeal depends heavily on how well it is equipped. It also makes sense to focus on whether the trim level matches your expectations, because the feature spread is wide.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim comes with 18-inch wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, heated front seats, and an 8-way power driver’s seat, while the Preferred trim mainly opens up more option packages. The Essence adds a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, select driver-assistance features, and memory settings for the driver’s seat and side-view mirrors. The Premium AWD adds a Bose premium stereo, 19-inch aluminum wheels, bi-LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and an upgraded 8-inch semi-digital instrument panel, while the Premium II AWD adds heated and cooled front seats, a head-up display, navigation, and leather seating.
• Powertrain: The FWD, Preferred, and Essence trims use a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with 197 horsepower and a 6-speed automatic, and that setup feels underpowered and sluggish in many situations. The Premium and Premium II trims use a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 252 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic, and that combination delivers stronger acceleration and standard AWD.
• Safety package: The Envision comes standard with ten airbags and a reversing camera with Rear Park Assist. Essence and Premium trims add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while the Premium trim also adds lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision alert. The Driver Confidence Package is available only on the Premium II trim and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic front braking, and a 360-degree camera.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is an 8-inch touchscreen with GM’s Intellilink system, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless charging is also mentioned on the test vehicle, and the interface uses hard buttons and dials below the screen.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-liter FWD setup returns 22 mpg city, 29 highway, and 25 combined. The turbo AWD test model is rated at 20/25/22, and the expert notes that the fuel-economy gains from the 2.5-liter aren’t enough to offset its lack of power.

Which 2019 Buick Envision trim should I buy?

The 2019 Buick Envision is offered in 5 trim levels: base FWD Envision, Preferred, Essence, Premium AWD, and Premium II AWD.

Here's the short version:

• Envision: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core luxury-SUV basics, including heated front seats, a hands-free power liftgate, and an 8-way power driver’s seat. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting point, but it is the least compelling choice if you care about power or feature content.
• Preferred: This trim doesn’t add much beyond making more option packages available, so it is mainly for shoppers who want a middle rung without jumping straight to the more expensive trims.
• Essence: This is the trim that starts to feel more complete, thanks to the heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, memory settings, and added driver-assistance features. It is the better value if you want more comfort and convenience without going all the way to the turbo models.
• Premium AWD: This is the best-value trim because it adds the stronger turbocharged engine, standard AWD, the Bose premium stereo, 19-inch wheels, bi-LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and the upgraded instrument panel. It is the trim most likely to satisfy you if you want the Envision to feel properly upscale.
• Premium II AWD: This is the top trim, and it layers on heated and cooled front seats, a head-up display, navigation, and leather seating. It is the right pick if you want the most comfort and equipment, but it is also the easiest trim to overpay for.

The Premium trim is the one CarGurus recommends, and the safety package expands further on Premium II with the available Driver Confidence Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Buick Envision?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 625 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.97% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,131, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Buick Envision's resale value?

The current average of $17,131 sits slightly below last year's $18,220.

That decline suggests the Envision has softened in the used market, which can be good news if you are buying now but less favorable if you are thinking about future trade-in value. A lower current price can help you get into the vehicle more affordably, but it also means you should expect resale to remain sensitive to condition, mileage, and equipment level. Higher-trim examples with the stronger engine and better feature content should be easier to justify to future shoppers than stripped-down versions.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Buick Envision safe?

The 2019 Buick Envision earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with ten airbags and a reversing camera with Rear Park Assist. Essence and Premium trims add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while the Premium trim also adds lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision alert. The Driver Confidence Package is available only on the Premium II trim and adds adaptive cruise control, automatic front braking, and a 360-degree camera.

A key caveat is that many of the more advanced driver-assistance features are not standard on the lower trims, so you need to shop carefully if safety tech matters to you.

Should I buy a 2019 Buick Envision or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.97% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert takeaway for this year is that the Envision can feel like a comfortable, quiet compact luxury SUV, but it asks a lot of you financially once you start adding the equipment that makes it shine.

The bottom line: If you want the 2019 Envision’s comfort, quiet ride, and upscale feel, it makes sense to focus on well-equipped examples rather than the cheapest listings. Price-sensitive buyers should be especially selective and compare it against other years only if they can find a cleaner, better-equipped trim at a similar price.
