How much does the 2019 Buick Envision cost?

Prices have softened 5.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 636 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Buick Envision a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Buick Envision earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, luxury features, value, spacious and stylish interior, and smooth ride. In the context of Buick’s compact luxury-SUV pitch, that makes it a strong fit if you want an upscale-feeling crossover for moving up from a mainstream model. There are also signs of broad market acceptance, with 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2019 Buick Envision reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centered on comfort, value, and a smooth ride. The expert evaluation also emphasizes a quiet cabin and a composed, easygoing character that suits everyday use. If you buy used, the main long-term risk is that higher-mileage examples may have been optioned or maintained unevenly, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Buick Envision?

At 70.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with higher mileage or visible cosmetic wear. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, tire wear, and any evidence that the electronics or driver-assistance features are not working as intended. Because this model’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and equipment, you want to make sure the cabin, tech, and safety systems are all functioning properly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim includes 18-inch wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, heated front seats, and an 8-way power driver’s seat, while the Preferred trim mainly opens up more option packages. The Essence adds a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, select driver-assistance features, and memory settings for the driver’s seat and side-view mirrors. The Premium AWD adds a Bose premium stereo, 19-inch aluminum wheels, bi-LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and an upgraded 8-inch semi-digital instrument panel, while the Premium II AWD adds heated and cooled front seats, a head-up display, navigation, leather seating, and all-wheel drive.
• Powertrain: The FWD, Preferred, and Essence trims use a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with 197 horsepower and a 6-speed automatic, while the Premium and Premium II trims use a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 252 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque paired with a 9-speed automatic. The stronger engine is the better fit if you want more confident acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes ten airbags, a reversing camera with Rear Park Assist, and GM’s Safety Alert Seat on the Premium and Premium II trims. Essence and Premium add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while the Premium trim also adds lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision alert. The Driver Confidence Package is available only on the Premium II trim and adds adaptive cruise control, automatic front braking, and a 360-degree camera.
• Infotainment: The Envision uses an 8-inch touchscreen with GM’s Intellilink system, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless charging is also mentioned on the test vehicle.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-liter FWD setup returns 22 mpg city and 29 highway, while the turbo AWD test model was rated at 20/25/22.

Which 2019 Buick Envision trim should I buy?

The 2019 Buick Envision is offered in 5 trim levels: base FWD Envision, Preferred, Essence, Premium AWD, and Premium II AWD.

Here's the short version:

• FWD Envision: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core comfort features without much extra equipment. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the added convenience and safety content found higher up.
• Preferred: This trim doesn’t add much equipment, but it opens up more option packages. It’s best if you want flexibility and plan to build up the vehicle with selected extras rather than moving straight to a higher trim.
• Essence: This is the better-value choice for many shoppers because it adds a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, select driver-assistance features, and memory settings. It also brings blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, making it a more complete daily driver.
• Premium AWD: This is the recommended trim if you want the strongest overall balance of equipment and capability. It adds the more powerful engine, AWD, a Bose premium stereo, bi-LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and the upgraded instrument panel.
• Premium II AWD: This is the most luxurious version, with heated and cooled front seats, a head-up display, navigation, leather seating, and AWD. It suits you best if you want the fullest feature set and are willing to pay for it.

The safety-package content is strongest on the Premium and Premium II trims, with the Driver Confidence Package reserved for Premium II.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Buick Envision?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 636 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,795, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Buick Envision's resale value?

The current average of $16,807 sits slightly below last year's $17,826.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit softer, which can work against sellers who need to maximize trade-in or private-party value. If you plan to sell later, the best protection is to buy a clean, well-kept example now and avoid overpaying for options that the market may not fully reward. A lower entry price can help offset future depreciation, especially if you choose a trim with broader appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Buick Envision safe?

The Envision earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with ten airbags and a reversing camera with Rear Park Assist. GM’s Safety Alert Seat is standard on the Premium and Premium II trims, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Essence and Premium. The Premium trim also adds lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision alert, and the Driver Confidence Package on Premium II adds adaptive cruise control, automatic front braking, and a 360-degree camera.

Should I buy a 2019 Buick Envision or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 model stands out for its compact luxury-SUV positioning and its balance of comfort, upscale feel, and available driver-assistance content.

The bottom line: If you want a used Envision with a softer price trend and a solid satisfaction record, the 2019 is a reasonable place to start. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on clean, lower-priced listings and be selective about trim, because the best-equipped versions can climb quickly in cost.
