The plush interior can hold up to seven people, and Buick offers the Enclave in four trims: Base, Essence, Premium, and Avenir. Base comes equipped with 18-inch painted aluminum wheels, keyless access and start, an 8-way power driver’s seat, a 6-way power passenger seat, six USB ports, tri-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, heated front seats, a motion-sensing power liftgate, remote start, and a garage door opener. Buyers can also add leather, navigation, a premium Bose audio system, a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seats, a panoramic moonroof, and ventilated front seats. This pair is good for 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. Premium and Avenir buyers can choose a more advanced twin-clutch AWD system or, for Avenir, a premium adaptive suspension. The Enclave achieves fuel economy numbers as high as 18 miles per gallon city, 26 highway, and 23 combined for FWD models, or 17, 25, and 22 with AWD. In terms of safety, every Enclave gets 10 airbags, OnStar telematics with a free trial, and a reversing camera. From there, Buick offers packages for even more safety technology. The Driver Confidence package, available on Essence, adds lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Meanwhile, Driver Confidence II, available on Essence and Premium trims, bundles everything from Driver Confidence plus lane-keep assist, safety alert seat, front and rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, low-speed automatic emergency braking, following distance indicator, and automatic high beams. Lastly, the Avenir adds full-speed adaptive cruise control with stop and go. The current generation of Enclave has yet to be tested for crash safety by any major agency. The Enclave continues to stand out among its peers for its sense of style, comfort, and value. It should slowly trickle into dealerships later this year.
