What should I look for when buying a used 2019 BMW X4?

At 70% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the equipment and driver-assistance features work as advertised. Because this model can be optioned heavily, you should also confirm that the specific car has the features you expect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 BMW X4?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options but still enough variation in condition and pricing to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 270 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,630, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 BMW X4's resale value?

The current average of $23,868 sits slightly below last year's $26,002.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what you can expect later as a seller. If you buy at a competitive price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned than someone who pays near the top of the range. Premium vehicles with lots of options can still hold appeal, but the X4’s resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 BMW X4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Prices have softened 8.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review highlights the X4’s strong blend of style, performance, and advanced features, with the redesigned model offering more interior space than before.

The bottom line: If you want the X4’s distinctive styling and engaging road manners, the 2019 is the right year to target, especially because pricing has eased and there are enough listings to shop carefully. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a different year may be worth considering, but you should expect to give up some of the 2019 model’s updated space, features, and overall polish.
