How much does the 2019 BMW 2 Series cost?

Prices have softened 1.36% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 279 listings available, which gives you a moderate amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2019 BMW 2 Series a good car?

The 2019 BMW 2 Series is aimed at you if you want a compact premium sports car with rear-wheel-drive dynamics and a more performance-focused feel than many rivals. It also gives you coupe and convertible body styles, plus available xDrive on some versions, so you can choose the configuration that fits how you plan to drive it.

The overview points to a strong mix of fun-to-drive manners, quality interior materials, and plenty of cargo space, while also noting a cramped back seat, styling that may not suit everyone, and a firm ride. That makes it a better fit if you value driving enjoyment and everyday usability more than maximum rear-seat comfort.

34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2019 BMW 2 Series reliable?

The 2019 BMW 2 Series is described as a compact premium sports car with usable everyday appeal, and its 2019 updates added some new standard safety equipment. It also keeps the core formula that made the model appealing: engaging driving character, quality materials, and practical features like dual-zone climate control and a 10-speaker audio system.

For long-term ownership, you should expect the usual used-luxury-car risk profile, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot when you plan to keep it for years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 BMW 2 Series?

At 67.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified, driven hard, or shows uneven wear. Focus on overall condition, because the 2 Series’ sporty setup makes suspension, tire, and ride-quality checks especially important.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 BMW 2 Series?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 279 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,351, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 BMW 2 Series's resale value?

The current average of $24,485 sits slightly below last year's $24,822.

That suggests the model has softened a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now if you plan to hold it for a while. For a future seller, the current trend means resale value is still supported, but you should not expect strong appreciation. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain the car well, you’ll be in a better position to protect value when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2019 BMW 2 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.36% compared with last year.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $22,795, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $24,485 average.
• The Gran Coupe adds a four-door body style and a different ownership focus.

The bottom line:
If you want the classic 2 Series experience, the 2019 is the better primary path because it stays closer to the model’s sporty identity. If price is your main priority, the 2020 is worth a look since it undercuts the current-year average and may fit a more budget-conscious shopping plan.
