Is the 2018 Volvo S60 a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2018 S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan with Scandinavian style, a strong emphasis on safety and comfort, and a cabin that prioritizes high-quality materials and logical controls. It is especially appealing if you want a driver-focused luxury sedan that feels distinctive rather than mainstream, though rear-seat space is limited. 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Volvo S60 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2018 S60’s appeal is built around safety, comfort, and a well-executed cabin, with standard City Safety and strong crash ratings adding to its reputation. Its final-year status in this generation also means you’re shopping a mature version of the design, which can be reassuring if you want a settled product rather than an early-production gamble. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s core concept and more about finding one that has been maintained carefully and not worn hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Volvo S60?

At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with past damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to bodywork, alignment, and signs of uneven wear that could point to prior repairs. Focus on overall condition and maintenance quality, because the best used S60 will be the one that has been cared for consistently rather than simply the one with the lowest asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Volvo S60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 262 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.39% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,324, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $14,200 sits slightly below last year's $15,010.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For future resale, the S60’s value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the car presents as a clean, well-kept example. A distinctive luxury sedan with strong safety credentials can still attract interest, but buyers in this segment tend to be selective, so presentation matters.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,060, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $14,200 average.
• It adds a more mainstream, directly competitive small-luxury-sedan approach.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2018 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid satisfaction and a meaningful share of deal-priced listings. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer-feeling alternative, the 2019 is the better secondary path, especially if its updated positioning matters more to you than upfront cost.
