What is the 2018 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $26,804 sits slightly below last year's $27,978.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more measured than they were when prices were climbing. If you plan to sell later, the current market suggests value retention is still supported, but not at peak levels.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $28,686, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $26,804 average.
• It leans into a more distinctive, truck-first personality with a stronger sense of character.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2018 if you want a well-liked Tacoma at a lower average price and are willing to shop carefully for condition. Consider the 2019 if you want to spend more for a more characterful driving experience, while price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on the 2018’s softer market and stronger deal availability.
