Used 2018 Toyota C-HR for Sale nearDetroit, MI

How much does the 2018 Toyota C-HR cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 494 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 Toyota C-HR a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.7/5 user-rated model with an expert rating of 5.8/10. The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise the great handling, unique styling, and comfort, and they also call out the spacious interior and extensive features. In use, that makes the C-HR a better fit if you value personality, a comfortable ride, and a distinctive look more than maximum practicality.

The overview also frames it as a subcompact crossover that asks you to prioritize style and driving feel over utility, which matches the owner feedback. That tradeoff is important if you want a small SUV that feels different from the mainstream.

Only 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than especially bargain-heavy.

Is the 2018 Toyota C-HR reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for comfort and features that help the C-HR feel like a car you can count on. The expert evaluation also emphasizes Toyota’s practical, reliable-car reputation even while noting that this model leans more niche than conventional.

The powertrain is simple and straightforward, which can help reduce complexity over the long term. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about mechanical drama and more about whether the car’s limited utility and missing features will still suit your needs after the novelty wears off.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Toyota C-HR?

At 65.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and any signs of prior repair. Because this model is already short on space and utility, condition matters even more if you want the car to feel like a worthwhile compromise.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XLE comes with 18-inch sport alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, one USB port, and Bluetooth connectivity. The XLE Premium adds fog lights, push-button start, heated front bucket seats, and puddle lights that project the C-HR logo, so it’s the better choice if you want the more complete feature set.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 144 horsepower and 139 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive only. The setup is tuned more for everyday use than quick acceleration, but it does return 27 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense P is standard, and it includes collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, auto high beams, and adaptive cruise control. The XLE Premium adds a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Both trims get a standard 7-inch touchscreen, but there’s no navigation, no Apple CarPlay, and no Android Auto. That makes the tech setup feel dated if you rely on smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The C-HR is rated at 27 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, which is a useful efficiency baseline if you’re comparing it with other small crossovers.

Which 2018 Toyota C-HR trim should I buy?

The 2018 Toyota C-HR is offered in 2 trim levels: XLE and XLE Premium.

Here's the short version:

• XLE: This is the value pick if you want the lowest entry point and still want the core C-HR experience, including the 18-inch sport alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, and the standard safety suite. It makes the most sense if you’re focused on style and safety rather than extra convenience features.
• XLE Premium: This is the better choice if you want the most complete version of the C-HR, since it adds fog lights, push-button start, heated front bucket seats, puddle lights, a blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert. If you want the best-value trim overall, this is the one to target.

Toyota Safety Sense P is standard, and the XLE Premium is the trim that adds the extra driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota C-HR?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 494 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,119, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota C-HR's resale value?

The current average of $15,012 sits slightly above last year's $14,915.

That small increase suggests the C-HR has held its value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply up or down. For a future seller, that kind of stability is helpful because it points to a market that is still willing to pay around the same level for a clean example.

The current price range also suggests there’s a defined ceiling, so condition and equipment will matter when you go to sell. If your vehicle is well maintained and presents cleanly, you should be in a better position to capture the stronger end of the market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Toyota C-HR safe?

The 2018 Toyota C-HR earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense P is standard, and it includes collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, auto high beams, and adaptive cruise control. The XLE Premium adds a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, giving you more driver-assistance coverage if you move up a trim.

One caveat is the reversing camera setup, which is displayed in a small screen in the rear-view mirror rather than in the main touchscreen. That doesn’t change the overall safety strength, but it is a packaging compromise you’ll notice in daily use.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota C-HR or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 stands out for its distinctive styling, strong handling, and standard Toyota Safety Sense P.

The bottom line: If you want the C-HR’s unique look, standard safety tech, and steady pricing, the 2018 is a reasonable year to target. If you’re more price-sensitive or want a more practical small crossover, you may want to compare it carefully against other model years and alternatives before committing.

How does the 2018 Toyota C-HR compare to the 2018 Honda HR-V?

Our experts score the 2018 Toyota C-HR 5.8/10 and the 2018 Honda HR-V 6.7/10.

The C-HR leans harder into style, handling, and standard safety equipment, while the HR-V comes across as the more practical and better-rounded choice. You also get more listings to shop in the HR-V market, which can make it easier to find the right combination of price and condition.
