How much does the 2018 Toyota 4Runner cost?

Is the 2018 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its off-road capability, reliability, style, and durability, while also noting its rugged, old-school character. That makes it a strong fit if you want a body-on-frame SUV that prioritizes trail use and long-term toughness over carlike refinement. With 32.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2018 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, durability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers saying they trust it for long-term use. That kind of reputation matters if you plan to keep your SUV for years, because it suggests lower ownership anxiety and stronger confidence in the vehicle’s staying power. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s core dependability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Toyota 4Runner?

At 61.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the price looks unusually attractive. Put inspection priority on body condition, frame and underbody condition, and signs of off-road wear or uneven maintenance. If possible, focus on examples with clean records and consistent service history so you can better separate a well-kept SUV from one that has been used hard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota 4Runner?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,745 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,189, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $28,946 sits slightly below last year's $29,673.

That softer pricing can help you buy more efficiently today, but it also suggests future resale gains may be more measured than in a rising market. Even so, the 4Runner’s reputation for durability and loyal demand can help support values over time. If you buy a clean, well-maintained example, you’re more likely to preserve value than if you choose one with accident history or visible wear.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $31,524, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $28,946 average.
• It adds a more modern-feeling take on the same rugged, off-road-first formula.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2018 if you want the stronger value proposition and are willing to shop carefully for condition. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2018 is the better starting point; if you want to spend more for a newer model-year option, the 2019 is the natural next step.
