At 69% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on bodywork, panel alignment, and the operation of the Falcon Wing doors, since those are especially important on this model. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because ownership costs and depreciation have been concerns for some drivers.

What is the 2018 Tesla Model X's resale value?

The current average of $25,755 sits slightly below last year's $27,001.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you're thinking about future resale. If you plan to sell later, the best protection is to buy a well-kept example at a competitive price and keep it in strong condition. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Tesla Model X or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest balance of price, availability, and owner satisfaction, the 2018 is a sensible place to start.
