Is the 2018 Subaru Legacy a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the excellent safety features, comfortable ride, and spacious interior, and they also call out the good fuel economy and reliability. For you, that means this Legacy fits especially well if you want a practical midsize sedan with standard all-wheel drive, modern connectivity, and a confidence-inspiring daily driving experience. Is the 2018 Subaru Legacy reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes reliability, along with dependable everyday use and a trouble-free ownership experience. That matters if you want a used sedan you can count on for commuting, family duty, and all-weather driving. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t picked up hidden wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Subaru Legacy?

At 56.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the car’s structural condition and repair quality. Focus closely on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, tire wear, and any issues with the ride or steering that could point to past damage. Because this model is often bought for comfort and confidence, you’ll want to make sure the specific car you choose still delivers both.

What is the 2018 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $14,221 sits slightly below last year's $14,680.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The Legacy’s broad appeal as a practical, all-weather sedan should help it remain relevant, especially among shoppers who value safety and comfort over flash.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

• At 56.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
