How much does the 2018 Subaru Legacy cost?

There are 607 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2018 Subaru Legacy a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Subaru Legacy earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its excellent safety features, comfortable ride, and spacious interior, and they also highlight its great fuel economy and reliability. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a practical midsize sedan with standard AWD, modern smartphone integration, and a comfort-first personality. With 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s also a decent chance of finding attractive pricing.

Is the 2018 Subaru Legacy reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners also describe it as reliable and appreciate its trouble-free ownership experience, along with the confidence that comes from a car they can count on over the long term. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used sedan that should feel dependable rather than risky.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding a well-kept example with clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Subaru Legacy?

At 51.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any candidate you’re seriously considering, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, suspension, or repair issues. Focus closely on overall condition, especially signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or inconsistent repairs, because those details matter more when the market includes a sizable number of accident-affected cars.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru Legacy?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 607 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 51.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,016, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $14,263 sits slightly below last year's $14,993.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become a bit easier to buy, which can also mean future sellers may need to stay competitive when it’s time to list. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later, especially if you choose a clean, well-maintained example with strong appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of value, owner satisfaction, and modern features, the 2018 is the one to target first. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2018’s stronger market position and updated cabin tech.
