How much does the 2018 Subaru Legacy cost?

There are 606 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Subaru Legacy a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Subaru Legacy earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its excellent safety features, comfortable ride, and spacious interior, and they also appreciate the great fuel economy and reliability. For you, that makes it a sensible choice if you want a comfortable, confidence-inspiring sedan with standard all-wheel drive and modern connectivity. With 29.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2018 Subaru Legacy reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability, calling out the car’s dependable nature alongside its safety and comfort strengths. That kind of response suggests the Legacy can be a reassuring used buy if you want a sedan you can count on over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding one that has been well maintained and not worn down by prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Subaru Legacy?

At 57.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with past damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually strong. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s features and maintenance history match the seller’s claims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru Legacy?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find value.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 606 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.57% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,016, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $14,463 sits slightly below last year's $14,845.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may limit upside if you plan to sell soon. Still, the Legacy’s strong owner satisfaction and practical appeal can help support demand when it’s time to move on. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintenance records organized, you’ll be in a better position to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of value, standard all-wheel drive, and modern features, the 2018 is the one to target first. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a cleaner or better-equipped example offers more value for the money, but the 2018 remains a strong starting point for shoppers who want a practical sedan with broad appeal.
