Should I buy a 2018 Nissan Maxima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 46.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $16,647, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $13,791 average.
• It adds a mild refresh with updated style, technology, and interior features.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition and history. If you want a newer-feeling cabin and can stretch your budget, the 2019 is the better secondary path.
