What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Nissan Armada?

At 59.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body condition, repair quality, and signs of wear that could affect a large SUV. Because this model year has a meaningful share of listings with prior incidents, you’ll want to focus on consistency between the listing photos, the report, and the actual vehicle.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SV trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen, HD Radio, NissanConnect, parking sensors front and rear, navigation, a 13-speaker Bose stereo, heated power seats, roof rails, running boards, keyless entry and ignition, and a rear-view camera. The SL adds a 360-degree top-down camera, leather, remote engine start, driver memory functions, auto wipers, and 20-inch wheels, while the Platinum adds front-seat ventilation, a rear entertainment system, power-folding heated mirrors, lane-departure warning and intervention, and the Intelligent Rear View Mirror.
• Powertrain: Every Armada uses a 5.6-liter V8 with a 7-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel-drive versions are rated at 16 mpg combined, 14 mpg city, and 19 mpg highway, while AWD trims lose 1 mpg in each column. The Armada is quick for its size and can tow up to 8,500 pounds.
• Safety package: The Technology Package adds adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring and warning, and forward collision warning with avoidance braking front and rear. The base SV cannot access most of the safety features, and lane-departure warning and the Intelligent Rear View Mirror are reserved for the Platinum.
• Infotainment: The Armada uses an 8-inch touchscreen with HD Radio and NissanConnect, plus extra USB charging ports. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included.
• Fuel efficiency: The Armada is rated at 16 mpg combined, 14 mpg city, and 19 mpg highway in rear-wheel-drive form, and AWD trims lose 1 mpg in each column.

Which 2018 Nissan Armada trim should I buy?

The 2018 Nissan Armada is offered in 3 trim levels: SV, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• SV: This is the entry point, but it still brings a lot of equipment, including the 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, a 13-speaker Bose stereo, parking sensors, heated power seats, and a rear-view camera. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the more advanced safety and convenience features.
• SL: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 360-degree camera, leather, remote engine start, driver memory functions, auto wipers, and 20-inch wheels. It is also the trim where the safety tech package starts to make the most sense.
• Platinum: This is the luxury-focused choice, adding front-seat ventilation, a rear entertainment system, power-folding heated mirrors, lane-departure warning and intervention, and the Intelligent Rear View Mirror. Choose this if you want the most upscale Armada experience.

The safety package is most worthwhile on the SL, while the Platinum is the trim that gets the extra safety features built in.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Nissan Armada?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 972 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,621, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Nissan Armada's resale value?

The current average of $15,621 sits slightly below last year's $18,153.

That price movement suggests the Armada has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you shop carefully now, you may have less downside left than a buyer who paid closer to last year’s average. The flip side is that resale value will still depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Nissan Armada safe?

The 2018 Nissan Armada earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The SL trim with the Tech Package is where you should start when it comes to safety, and thankfully that’s a path with a $300 discount this year, as long as you were planning on a moonroof already. It adds adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring and warning, and forward collision warning with avoidance braking front and rear.

The base SV trim can’t access most of the safety features, and lane-departure warning plus the Intelligent Rear View Mirror are reserved for the Platinum. That means you should pay close attention to trim level if safety tech matters to you.

Should I buy a 2018 Nissan Armada or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Nissan added extra standard tech and made the cabin feel more upscale this year.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $14,449, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $15,621 average.
• It offers a more comfortable cabin with upgraded materials and strong sound insulation.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped, more polished version, the 2018 is the stronger pick. If your priority is saving money and you value comfort over newer tech, the 2017 is the smarter budget alternative.
