Used 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross for Sale nearPhiladelphia, PA

How much does the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross cost?

Prices have softened 6.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 144 listings available, which suggests you should have some room to compare prices and condition.

Is the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross a good car?

With a user rating of 3/5 and an expert rating of 6.5/10, the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross looks like a mixed proposition rather than a clear standout. It is positioned as a compact crossover that fits a strong market segment and reflects Mitsubishi’s effort to refresh the brand, but the overall package is described as promising without fully delivering across the board.

The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

That lines up with the vehicle’s role as a practical small SUV, but the expert evaluation also points to shortcomings in execution, especially in areas like interior usability and overall polish. Even so, the market shows 29.9% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some flexibility if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross reliable?

The 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is presented as a vehicle with real promise, especially because it pairs a turbocharged engine with a long powertrain warranty. The expert evaluation also describes the engine as a true bright spot, and the drivetrain is said to perform well in most driving situations.

The performance write-up also suggests the vehicle can handle commuting and city driving well, while the all-wheel-drive system adds useful capability in snow or on rougher surfaces. On the ownership side, the 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty is a meaningful plus for long-term confidence.

For used buyers, the bigger reliability risk is less about the core mechanicals and more about whether the vehicle has been maintained well and whether its many features still work as intended over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross?

At 61.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and any signs of prior repair. Because the model’s appeal depends heavily on condition and equipment, it’s smart to focus on how well the interior, electronics, and driver-assistance features are working.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base ES comes with fog lights, LED taillights, 16-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, a multi-function steering wheel, a 7-inch touchscreen, and a USB port. The LE adds standard all-wheel drive, turn signals integrated into the side-view mirrors, 18-inch black alloy wheels, dual USB ports, voice control, and satellite radio. The SE adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic assist, an electronic parking brake, remote keyless entry, chrome-finish door handles, a leather-wrapped shift knob, a rear-seat center armrest with cupholders, heated front seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, power side mirrors, auto on-off headlights, and Mitsubishi’s telematics system with remote services. The SEL adds LED headlights, soft-touch door-trim inserts, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, leather upholstery, an upgraded reversing camera with multiple views including a 360-degree view, and a head-up display.
• Powertrain: The standard turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder makes 152 horsepower and 182 pound-feet of torque and uses a CVT. Front-wheel drive comes on only the base trim, while all other trims use standard S-AWC. The system includes Auto, Snow, and Gravel drive modes.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a full array of airbags, a reversing camera, hill-start assist, active stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The SE adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and lane-change assist. The SEL is available with automatic high beams, forward-collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: The base trim gets a 7-inch touchscreen. LE and above add an upgraded infotainment system with a track pad controller, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The ES trim with front-wheel drive returns 26 mpg city, 29 highway, and 27 combined. The SEL S-AWC model returns 25 city, 26 highway, and 25 combined.

Which 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross trim should I buy?

The 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is offered in 4 trim levels: ES, LE, SE, and SEL.

Here's the short version:

• ES: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Eclipse Cross experience at the lowest price. You get the basic design, the 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and the standard safety equipment, but you miss out on the more useful convenience and driver-assistance upgrades found higher up. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model.
• LE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds standard all-wheel drive, dual USB ports, voice control, satellite radio, and the upgraded infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you want the most important everyday upgrades without stretching too far, this is the trim to focus on.
• SE: This trim is the one to consider if you want a more complete safety and convenience package. It adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic assist, lane-change assist, heated front seats, remote keyless entry, and other comfort upgrades.
• SEL: This is the most feature-rich version, with LED headlights, leather upholstery, a power driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera view, and a head-up display. It suits you best if you want the most equipment and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package expands as you move up the range, with the SE adding blind-spot monitoring and the SEL available with additional driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, especially if you’re willing to compare condition and equipment carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 144 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.75% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,476, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross's resale value?

The current average of $11,636 sits slightly below last year's $12,477.

That price movement suggests the model has softened in the used market, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, though, it means you should expect a more competitive resale environment unless your vehicle is especially clean, well-equipped, and well documented.

If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your value better than the market average. But the recent decline also signals that this is not a model likely to command a premium without standout trim, mileage, or history.

Is the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross safe?

The 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with a full array of airbags, a reversing camera, hill-start assist, active stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The SE trim adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and lane-change assist, while the SEL is available with automatic high beams, forward-collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.

One caveat is visibility: the split rear window helps rearward sightlines, but the large right-side blind spot means you may want the available blind-spot monitoring system for extra confidence.

Should I buy a 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.75% compared with last year.
• The 2018 stands out as a fresh product for Mitsubishi and a compact crossover aimed at a hot segment, with an expert rating of 6.5/10 and a safety score of 8/10.

The bottom line: If you want the lowest current price and are comfortable shopping carefully, the 2018 is the better value play. If you’re more focused on maximizing equipment and condition for the money, you should compare listings closely and be selective about trim and history.
