The 2019 Mitsubishi eclipse cross SEL is awesome! It has Apple car play, a HUD feature. Adjustable headlights. Comfy and roomy.

I think this is a great vehicle for the money and standard features. Engine has more horsepower than competitor Chevy Trax. I appreciate the fulltime AWD. Warranty cant be beat. Only downside is wish cargo area was bigger.

I absolutely love my new car! It rides so smooth and even thought it is a 4 cylinder it still has some kick to it. just wish it had a remote start, especially for the cold mornings.

Great value! Fun to drive and very nice bells and whistles! I would love to see an automatic trunk release but everything else has been wonderful! Love the leather and the safety features!

Is the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross a good car?

Yes — the all-generations owner rating points to a generally positive ownership experience across the lineup.

The all-generations owner rating is 4.45/5 across every model year in the data.

Expert reviews rate the 2018 and 2022 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs are sluggish performance, outdated technology, and poor value for money.

37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross models reliable?

Owners consistently rate the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross well overall, and the strongest expert feedback points to a responsive infotainment system and standard advanced safety features. The model also earns praise for its bold styling and comfortable seating in higher trims.

  • Owners rate the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross between 3.0 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is most tied to trim choice and condition, so a careful history check matters.

What should I look for when buying a used Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Model YearAccident-Free %
202690.5%
202589.2%
202489.2%
202385.7%
202282.6%
202061.4%
201962.9%
201864.3%

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

  • Safety package: standard advanced driver assistance features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and pedestrian detection.
  • Infotainment: the 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Which Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross offers these trims:

  • ES: This entry trim brings 16-inch alloy wheels, cloth upholstery, manual seats, automatic climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen, HD radio, four speakers, lane departure warning, and forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection.
  • LE: This trim adds 18-inch wheels, LED fog lights, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, rain-sensing wipers, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, sport pedals, and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
  • SE: This is the best-value trim, adding an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, push-button start, remote keyless entry, six speakers, two USB ports, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
  • SEL: This top trim adds full leather upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable front-passenger seat, a heated steering wheel, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and available Touring Package upgrades such as heated rear seats, a head-up display, an eight-speaker premium stereo system, dual sunroofs, and adaptive cruise control.

What Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross do most buyers choose?

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

Model YearTotal ListingsGood + Great Deals %
20241,03338.3%
20251,02439.1%
202369835.7%
202657841.9%
202225336.4%
201921034.3%

Higher-volume years usually give you more shopping choice, more comparable listings, and a better chance of finding the right trim and price combination. They also tend to be the easiest years to cross-shop because there are simply more examples on the market.

What is the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross's resale value?

Model YearCurrent Avg. PriceYear-Over-Year Change
2020$12,465−14.75%
2025$20,756−14.17%
2019$11,499−13.01%
2022$16,297−11.27%
2024$19,533−8.87%
2018$11,856−8.24%
2023$19,126−6.2%

Most model years are down year over year, which can work in your favor if you want a used Eclipse Cross at a lower entry price. The largest drops are in the double digits, while the smaller declines suggest some years are softening more gradually than others. Overall, the pattern points to improving value for used shoppers across much of the lineup.

The 2023, 2018, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross safe?

  • 2022: 8/10
  • 2018: 8/10

The 2022 model includes standard advanced driver assistance features such as forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and pedestrian detection.

For the safest used buy, the 2018 and 2022 models both post the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Should I buy a used Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

  • Price trend: The 2025 model is at −14.17% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −8.87%.
  • Deal availability: The 2025 model has 39.1% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 38.3%.
  • Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $19,533. The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross offers bold styling and a comfortable cabin that make it easy to live with day to day.

Consider waiting if:

  • Powertrain/efficiency: No matter what trim you select, the Eclipse Cross is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, it makes 152 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, and power is routed through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to the front wheels or available all-wheel drive (AWD).
  • Tech: Mitsubishi has done away with the frustrating, redundant, and space-occupying touchpad controller, and the new(er) screen has real buttons and dials right up on the bezel.
  • Safety: The Eclipse Cross comes standard with a handful of advanced driver assistance features, including forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and pedestrian detection.
  • Starting price: Base MSRP for the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is $23,395 for an ES with FWD.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
