Is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxurious features, comfort, and performance, and they also like the power it delivers along with the electronic features that improve the driving experience. That lines up well with its role as a full-size luxury SUV built for space, comfort, and family use. With 35.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful number of opportunities to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on comfort, performance, and the features that make ownership feel easy. That kind of response suggests the GLS can be a trouble-free choice when it has been maintained well and kept in good condition. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about finding one with a clean history and consistent upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

At 66.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was minor or more serious. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive or the vehicle has higher mileage. Focus your condition check on the areas that matter most in a luxury SUV: interior wear, electronics, suspension behavior, and evidence of uneven repair quality.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 946 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.59% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,657, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS's resale value?

The current average of $20,771 sits slightly below last year's $23,494.

That price decline suggests the GLS has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may reduce the amount of value left to lose before resale. Strong demand for a well-equipped, comfort-focused three-row luxury SUV can also help support buyer interest when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a strong choice if you want a well-liked luxury SUV with softened pricing and enough inventory to compare options carefully. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2018 stands out as the better buy when you want a balance of value, owner satisfaction, and available listings.
