How much does the 2018 Lexus LS cost?

Is the 2018 Lexus LS a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Lexus LS earns a 4.75/5 from owners and an 8/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise the LS for its luxurious feel, smooth ride, and strong acceleration. The review summary also points to its stylish design, comfortable interior features, and strong value for the mix of power, luxury, and reliability.

That lines up with the car’s mission as a flagship sedan that aims to feel serene and upscale while still being engaging to drive. The main trade-offs are its polarizing design and unintuitive technology, so you should expect a car that impresses more through refinement and road manners than through universally easy controls.

With 33.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Lexus LS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to reliability as part of the LS’s appeal, alongside its strong value and luxury feel. On the expert side, the car is described as part of Lexus’s long-running formula built around reliability and durability, which reinforces the sense that this is a sedan designed for dependable long-term use.

Lexus also includes a long standard ownership support package through its safety-connect services, which adds peace of mind for used buyers. For a used purchase, the main risk is less about the brand promise and more about making sure the specific car has been maintained well and hasn’t picked up hidden wear from age or mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Lexus LS?

At 64.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a careful pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or shows signs of uneven wear. Focus on the condition of the cabin, electronics, suspension behavior, and any evidence that the car has been driven hard or repaired after damage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS 500 F Sport stands out with gray 20-inch wheels, a blacked-out grille, reshaped air intakes, and a more aggressive interior treatment, while a regular LS 500 can be optioned with more exotic trim materials and finishes.
• Powertrain: The LS 500 uses a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 416 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque paired with a 10-speed automatic, while the LS 500h hybrid uses two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery for 354 combined horsepower.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ comes standard with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, and blind-spot monitoring. Lexus Safety System+ A adds active steering for semi-autonomous highway control, front cross-traffic alert, and road-sign detection.
• Infotainment: The cabin includes an onboard owner’s manual with videos, 360-degree cameras that can pan around the vehicle, custom navigation routing, and an optional 24-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: Rear-wheel-drive models are rated at 19 mpg city and 30 mpg highway, while all-wheel-drive versions are rated at 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. The hybrid is rated at 25 mpg city and 33 mpg highway in rear-wheel-drive form, or 23 mpg city and 31 mpg highway with all-wheel drive.

Which 2018 Lexus LS trim should I buy?

The 2018 Lexus LS is offered in 3 trim levels: LS 500, LS 500 F Sport, LS 500h.

Here's the short version:

• LS 500: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the core LS experience: the twin-turbo V6, strong acceleration, and the quiet, premium cabin that defines the car. It makes the most sense if you want the flagship feel without chasing the sportier or hybrid variants.
• LS 500 F Sport: This is the best-value trim if you want the most engaging version of the car. It adds the sportier visual treatment and, with the optional F Sport Performance Package, rear-axle steering, active stabilizer bars, staggered summer tires, and variable-ratio steering for sharper handling.
• LS 500h: Choose this if you want the hybrid powertrain and its efficiency advantage. It keeps the LS luxury formula intact while giving you a different driving character and better fuel economy than the gas-only model.

Lexus Safety System+ comes standard, while Safety System+ A requires an extra-cost upgrade.

What is the 2018 Lexus LS's resale value?

The current average of $38,351 sits slightly below last year's $39,358.

That decline suggests the market has softened enough to help you buy more selectively today, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later because you’re starting from a lower entry point than last year’s average.

The LS’s strong owner satisfaction helps support demand, especially among shoppers who value comfort, luxury, and reliability over flashier badge appeal. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Rear-side thorax airbags are also standard, and Lexus Safety System+ A adds active steering for semi-autonomous highway control, front cross-traffic alert, and road-sign detection.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus LS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert testing highlights a quiet cabin, premium materials, and great handling, which fit this year’s more expressive flagship-sedan character.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the right pick if you want the fifth-generation LS’s blend of refinement, strong road manners, and standout luxury presentation. If you’re shopping mainly on price, you can still find attractive listings, but you should be especially selective about condition and history before you commit.
